Celtic maybe? I doubt it could simply be connection to other clubs otherwise Bolton would be mute. Edited February 11, 2022 by wanderer1984 Quote

Definitely. I've got a clear memory of singing it in the Lever End seats in our first season back in 3rd division in 83-84 when Caldwell was scoring all them goals. It looks terrible when written down but the Lever End was rocking to it! (its all relative, crowds were about 5,000). Quote

Quite a few of the London clubs sing it, I think, amongst others. “We hate Nottingham Forest…” Quote

Definitely a Lever End classic from about 1965 to 1970. Quote

Members bolty58 Posted January 30, 2024 Members Posted January 30, 2024 The one which always grates on me watching from afar is the "(insert anyone) ran away, because of Boxing Day". Playground stuff. As far as BWFC are concerned, during the Armfield era there was a bunch singing 'Bolton, Bolton Wanderers' to Van Der Graaf Generators "Death In The Sea" for the entire promotion season. Probably one of the oddest I ever heard at Burnden. Embankment will be getting wood at the mere thought I expect. As an impressionable youngster (dings as the Lever Enders called the newest followers) "There's a crack up in the ceiling, and the Stretford End is leaking" to The Kinks' "Dead End Street" was a big regular when I moved from the Embankment to the Lever End. Some of the older posters will know the rest. "Lloyd George knows my father" was another regular. Never understood why. Quote
