They were very happy to let him have it. 2 points dropped, probably done for this season.
Site Supporter FrancisFogarty Posted March 8, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted March 8, 2022 That was a hard watch. We should have been three up, then they score courtesy of us, and we strolled about aimlessly as if we'd all the time in the world. We need to be seeing shithouse sides like this off within the first half hour.
TroySwoosh
22 minutes ago, Deanu said: Dion takes one of them chances early we batter them 4-0 probably. Same at Gills were we wasted early chances but luckily it didn't bite us in the arse. Football doesn't work that you'll score every chance but some of these misses are legit guilt edged clear cut chances which have looked harder to miss then score. Adams knew he had to take the sting out the game with his little bullshit childlike tantrums which the officials don't really punish bar a yellow for obvious time wasting to keep stopping the game (I know Evatt won't be punked but it didn't help getting involved he bit on the bait & it translated to the players). Johnston who had a mare sloppily gives them something at such a crucial time so they can go in HT with their tails up with something to cling onto which makes it so much more difficult to break down. Second half we was so easy to play against, mistakes crept in & we ran out of ideas very quickly which was very frustrating. Needed our better players like Dapo & Dion to try create but besides from some safety first passes just didn't get involved second half. Think Fossey was the only one who wanted to run at players & be direct so credit to him for trying to commit defenders. Back three were a nightmare at large periods when pressured & the thing is that Morecambe must have only pressed them three times in the whole 90. Big difference when Geth's in there to calm everybody else down & help guide the others through the game with his football brain. Santos made some incredible defensive actions but then decides he wants to start skinning strikers in his own box which really gets everybody nervy whilst taking a striker out for a clear pen. Sadlier tried to create, Xav got an assist & JDB scored so the bench did well yet again even if was a bit late. They deserved to bottle it for a complete anti football performance so yeah... TM Trotter
What a tinpot shower Morecambe are, from Adams to their players, from their fans to their shithouse physio. Hopefully that equaliser will help send them down. Their gameplan, after we'd been threatening a cricket score for the first 25, was pure shithousing and it (almost) worked. I hope Evatt gets his players smarter to this next season; without meaning to sound like a delusional Mackem, we really are a big day out for so many players/clubs in this division. I still can't believe Santos didn't concede a penalty with that ridiculous challenge. Ref evening up the scores after their 22(?) was lucky to stay on the pitch? Oh, and while it wasn't *exactly* the scenario I'd played out in my head countless times as a kid, standing on the BWFC pitch to rapturous applause before kickoff was... emotional. Thank you. Site Supporter Cheese Posted March 8, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted March 8, 2022 Battered them for the first 40 minutes, then lost all direction. Felt like a win at the end though. I fucking hate Morecambe.
bolton va va
We played some lovely football, especially 1st half, with Santos MoTM, (despite one slightly rash challenge ) but can't complain when we missed so many clear cut chances. The consolation is that we took 2 points off Morecambe, I don't mind Accy or Fleetwood but these are horrible pricks, cheating players, shit stirring bench & their fans are dicks.......I hope they go down. Deanu
Dapo looked great as one of the front two alongside Dion running in behind & drifting to the left like he likes to do especially against Sunderland. In the 10 role in this shape he's basically dropping to the deepest midfielder to pick the ball up & recycle possesion which just seems a waste of what makes him dangerous. He doesn't look nowhere near as sharp recently & seems to have lost a lot of confidence in his ability to make things happen as he was doing before. Can't play up top with Dion though because of JDB & Baka's impact they've been having so Dapo's having to adapt his game all of a sudden. We've been at our best when Lee is in the 10 he just provides a much better balance, Dempsey I can see being the ball carrier driving from deep alongside Morley deep lying. Aimson is a good defender & was top notch in the centre when Rico was missing but when he's seeing all the ball in the wide areas it's just not his obviously not his game. Moderators Casino Posted March 8, 2022 Moderators Share Posted March 8, 2022 Our wasteful finishing gave them something to hold on to and tbf, unpleasant though it was, i thought they did it well Stocktons a proper handful, 11? BWFC_LOVE
Badly missed Gethin. A hugely frustrating evening but I’m delighted they didn’t win. Stonewall pen but fuck them. Payback for the nonsense Santos red card and penalty at their place. In a way, we’ve had a taste of how Arsenal felt about us when we regularly took points off them 15-20 years ago. tomski
No issue with their tactics. Grim but that was the only way they’d get owt. That performance was a let down tonight. Over a balanced season it’s a performance you can live with but in this feast or famine game we partake in it’s a bit shit

Site Supporter MickyD Posted March 8, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted March 8, 2022 You definitely know you’re being shithoused when even the physio is at it. Added to all their players staying on the deck for a while after every tackle, their keeper taking a minute for each goal kick… Only 4 minutes added time though! When Santos brought their player down, ref looked straight at the prick with the flag along WSL for a decision. As said linesman hadn’t actually seen anything of the game worth waving a flag for, I think he just shrugged his shoulders and ask, “What?” As bad as all these refs are, they’re made to look worse by having very unhelpful assistants. The way we knock the ball around for periods at this level is pretty standard in the champ. The gulf is massive. Some very talented teams and players up there who quite frankly would tear our current side to pieces. this year was always about consolidation for us. We’ll be up in and around the play offs next year. If we go up then or even the season after I will take quite happily. Allows us to build a better side slowly than having to rip it all up and start again just to suddenly compete in the champ

Morecambes heads were down while it was still 0-0 after 30 mins, they couldn’t live with us, it’s like they were just waiting for the goals to go in & when the goals never materialised they grew into the game. Read on Twitter that their cunty physio was none other than Simon Twatting Farnworth?! Anyway, we went from looking like Brazil in the first 30 mins to the dog & duck. Whats most concerning is the mental thing - reduced to forcing it and not trusting the process. That diag we kept trying was doing my head in. They scored and we lost our heads. Adams is a shit cunt but they did what he likes - pressed us well and fucked our rhythm up. Especially when Johnston & Aimson got it. We went very predictable and lacking in tempo. Dapo especially guilty of slowing it down and no r moving it quickly enough Officials as dire as every week - a stonewall pen denied for each team. We’re not far off but we still aren’t quite there yet. I still fancy us to sort it and go up next season mind
