Any post-match issues would be immediately solved by keeping the away fans inside for 10-15 minutes and let the home fans clear.

Throw that alongside the visible police presence in ESL with fuck all in the away end and you can see why people are questioning if away fans get better treatment than us.

It was the complete opposite. Our fans hardly spoken to by the police or robostewards. Sunderland hassled all of the game from what I saw.

I’m only looking from NSL so will bow to your knowledge on that one. Does always seem the police are facing in towards IL1 though with their back to the away fans.

Doesn't closing the busiest exit create other issues inside the ground?
Don't they need a certain number of escape routes per head of people?

The new Head of Security, or whatever his title is, was a former senior fire officer. He did the same role at The Etihad and (possibly) Maine Road. He’ll undoubtedly know the rules about exits. To my knowledge the closed exits would still be available to use in an emergency. They’ll be locked with the push-bar mechanism, not a padlock and chain.

Be interesting to see what is done around the Sheff Weds game as they will probably have a good following.

I bet last night was a dummy run for the Sheff Wednesday match, at the end of the day the Morecambe fans were nearer to the West Stand, it’s not as if missiles would of been thrown between supporters.  We had a huge wedge of the Burnden Paddock taken away to help with segregation, they’re just going to be doing the same I suppose until crowds rise, may as well whilst there’s empty seats all over the stadia.

Just another blot in the match day experience book of shit.

Funny how they don't mind taking £7 per car to park on hotel car park before the game but then want old fellas and families to walk all the way round to their cars afterwards. Add to that they let the busses go before that car park so as it stands you'd have to leave on 85 mins to get around the ground and off the car park before they close the exit.

Yet again normal law abiding fans being punished because of about ten 12 year olds.

Treated like fuckin animals.

£8 to park on hotel carpark , i spoke to one of our older stewards who been there years and he escorted me and a few other older fellas /folk with a disability past the line of new stewards and opened the gate by the carpark for us , the new stewards were giving him grief but he told them they were a disgrace and fucked them off ...hats off to him.

Meanwhile the manager is asking "Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt makes plea to home fans ahead of Morecambe clash"

"raising noise levels and creating the most daunting atmosphere possible for opposing teams."

Ok pal.

Did Neil Hart write this.

Treat people like pricks, they’ll act up like pricks.

How often does it kick off. Next to none. It’s hardly the cauldron of hate is it.

I was surprised the usual set of lads weren't hanging around outside the away exits waiting to have a pop at morecambe last night

didn't know about the ESL exits

but they are pretty much there every game looking for someone to have a pop at - recall an oxford fan getting it off a couple for no reason other than wearing an oxford shirt, they even waited around for wycombe

then of course rotherham and sunderland it did kick off

last night they weren't to be seen

seems to me when they are given a chance to act like pricks, they do

We leave WSL and walk through the middle of away supporters unfettered by the police because by and large,  we aren't 15-20 spoiling for a bit of confrontation by chanting "White Army!" as we pass through them.

If you think the police are targeting the ESL unnecessarily then either you walk around with your eyes shut or you never grew up and still think a bit of a ruck around the area immediately outside a football ground where families are coming out as well is acceptable.

Take it away from the ground so only like-minded folk are involved and there isn't an issue.

Christ almighty.
