they did it (offered him the contract) to make it seem like everythings "ok" ..

probably why the greek gangster at forest did it with cooper.

its a feint.

Forest aren't fucked financially, and made a good decision to back him.

Wigan are the opposite.

i didnt mean it like that.

at the time , it were batshit. fwiw theyve not really won much since.

but the marcelino, sean dyche, etc rumours changed to "what ? FIVE years ? they were gonna sack him last week.."

If the humbles think the same thing were gonna work here, sacking him three weeks later means they changed their minds, or ran out of money or summat.

it looks like a feint that didnt work, because the No Money Left rumours are still going.

i think a billionare will buy them in the end, and theyll be dropping 14million on various forwards from safety of the lower end of the championship.

like they did with charles wyke from sunderland and magennis (lol. he'll have to shithouse his way out of a paupers wallet again).

Some of them think that Dyche is an option...🤣

Probably is

Can't see any PL teams rushing to bring him in

Think Dyche's next job will be to get a team promoted and keep them up

Well he isn’t getting flooded with offers at the minute. I wouldn’t discount it totally . No idea we’re he lives but would of thought he would of been in the north west

Lives down here in Notts, FiL played golf with him other week

Dyche was in an Indian restaurant last week talking to 2 guys and referring to buying a flat somewhere. Duck Egg's brother was there & trying to earwig.

I'd have thought he'd have somewhere already in the North West.

Surely Dyche wants a premier league wage and a big club minimum top of championship, he’ll be well aware of the late wages issues… can’t see him rocking up at Wigan.

Absolutely no way. He might be on Bournemouth’s list atm.

Am amazed - setting aside recent results which have been awful

It really makes you wonder what is going on behind the scenes at that club - why oh why did they sign him up on a new 3 year contract just a couple of weeks ago ?

Very odd situation

They're obviously on a bad run, but the results individually haven't been that bad.  Just 4 weeks ago they beat Blackburn, and then they've had 1 goal defeats at Sunderland, QPR and v Watford and Stoke.  Bad defeat to Boro yes (1-4) but 2-2 at Swansea last week and then lost at in form Coventry.  I would have thought if they beat Blackpool on Saturday their start to the season would be as good as expected.

I'm glad he's gone because he's their biggest asset, their next manager will be worse and should ensure relegation, assuming they aren't going to splash cash in Jan.

As much as I detest Wigan, I have always thought LR came across very well.

He will get another job, and probably a bigger club than Wigan although he might end up at a Fleetwood or Accy.

Next time we're looking for a manager I'd be more than happy to have him on the shortlist.

hmm- Burnley's academy keeper coach is going down as head of academy goalkeeping, with a view to helping out with the first team once the new manager is in place

then again, he had a 3 month notice period, which no doubt pre-dates any issues with Scotty Boy

They’ve either heard something or it’s who all the money is going on.

Didn’t Garrp once tell us they close the book as soon as a pattern is identified?

He also told us Higuain was better than Messi or Ronaldo, so I'd tread carefully.

Got 25/1 on Lennon to us a few years back, although they only offered a quid at that price, then more at smaller prices. A bored insomnia-fuelled bet in the early hours. £288 back off £12.

Just had a hunch. Made a hungover packed train back from Leeds on a Sunday afternoon more bearable.

Interesting that the Daily Mail, who printed the other stories re delayed wages, announced the exclusive before the local press.

They clearly have someone on the inside feeding them info.

am sure I read on here it was a bolton fan who's got a mate who works in their ticket office, or something

(which is probably made up to wind wigan fans up)
