Luton probably brought 500.

Do Luton fans still wear face paint and Clockwork Orange garb? Not seen one for a few years.

What a day that was! I still have a small L shaped scar to remind me of that day.

Didn't we have 30K+ on Burnden for that game?

Only team out of the current top 3 divisions I've never seen us play against, must be mid 90s when we last played them?

FA cup 6-2 in 96/97 springs to mind

League maybe 93/94

First saw them at Burnden around 1970. Cup game. Lost 1-0. Eric Morecambe was present.

Ex Manc Johnny Aston fouled his way through the game. He was booed every time he played us after that.

As we were leaving the Lever End a Luton woman wearing a fur coat, was in the front row of the Manny Road stand, was  applauding as a pie hit her full in the face.

Funny what you remember.

I just checked 11v11 there was a cup match and replay (6-2!) in 1997, last league games were a couple of years before that.

Edit - also seen that cup run was ended by the Kevin Davies hat trick for Chesterfield. Lifetime ago!

Wonder if we'll get another chance to go into the away end through someone's back garden before they move grounds.

Round after charlton

Just before my time so may be way off

You're right. Feb 1973. There were 39,556 on.

It stopped an unbeaten home run of 26 games. Good going.

The pie in the face incident didn't make its way into the above report.

Their ground is miles off even being started

Doing a good job Luton given they don’t have big crowds, always liked them and great to watch in that period fucillo-stein, pleat era.

My mate, whose a Watford fan though comes with me to Bolton games, and my other half who is also a Watford fan would disagree with this!

Until I'd met either of them I would have thought a Watford Luton game was just another match

They fucking hate one another

I was at Luton when Richard Sneekes scored a thunderbolt, I'm sure we won too

Yes, 2-0 I think. That’s my only time there I think apart from a cup tie postponed an hour before kick off. Didn’t go to the re-arranged game

I was there that night, it was 3-0. First indication that we were going to do very nicely that particular season (... Reading play off win year)
