mattbwfc19 Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 They'll likely make another late payment of wages, so pretty much starting on minus 8, happy days Quote

If we stay down that's one less club to worry about, not that i was worried anyway Wigan Athletic FC - EFL Statement: EFL confirm point deduction for 2023/24 season Along with the consistent failure to pay wages on time this'll be a massive red flag for players who they'll be trying to sign. And they're going to be bargain basement hunting with a vast budget reduction regardless. I enjoyed reading about the suspended penalties for further non-payments and if their owner fails to lodge a sum in the bank for wages by Weds coming. Remember the Summer of 2019 at BWFC? We know that Wigan have a habit of trying to copy all things BWFC but it's getting ridiculous now. Quote
W.cramp Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Wonder if this designated bank account has received the 125% of the monthly wages yet. Tick tock Quote
paulhanley Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 They've given McLean a new one year contract. Which of course means another couple of encounters with the cunt next season. He's classed in the same category as the societal dropouts in Lonsdales who were dancing around Nat's statue a few years ago. Quote

athywhite1958 Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 "even if we start off on minus 8 points we will still be challenging for promotion" said a deluded Wigginer at work, they really don't understand the gravity of their situation Quote
BWFC_LOVE Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 Turns out McClean was never out of contract. It was extended last summer, on sky high wages no doubt. Lovely. Quote

barrycowdrill Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 Still not been paid and they have up to 23:59. If they had it it would be in. Simple. pay day next fri too Quote
paulhanley Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 Do we hope it goes completely sour and they go out of business? Or do we hope they linger in to next season, badly damaged and vulnerable to a couple of good tonkings from us? The debate goes on - but events are going to overtake our speculation quite rapidly now. #believe Quote

It’s the hope that kills you so leave them a little bit . can see the EFL not letting them start the season if they don’t deposit the money . the other thing you would of thought that the season tickets sales would of covered the amount they have to bank Edited May 24, 2023 by Farnywhite Quote

And once this fella finally clears off then they’ll more or less settle back at their natural level of flitting between the third and fourth tiers. Quote

Another minus 4 incoming 😂 Another -4, except they're inches from being defined as 'not able to show they can survive the season'. At which point the EFL's rules say they shouldn't be allowed to start it. The number of promises & guarantees they've given & subsequently not met has moved beyond 'difficulties' to 'downright lies'. Who will trust them now ? We've been there with dishonest owners and it's not nice. Good. Quote
