May 19, 20233 yr They'll likely make another late payment of wages, so pretty much starting on minus 8, happy days

If we stay down that's one less club to worry about, not that i was worried anyway Wigan Athletic FC - EFL Statement: EFL confirm point deduction for 2023/24 season Along with the consistent failure to pay wages on time this'll be a massive red flag for players who they'll be trying to sign. And they're going to be bargain basement hunting with a vast budget reduction regardless. I enjoyed reading about the suspended penalties for further non-payments and if their owner fails to lodge a sum in the bank for wages by Weds coming. Remember the Summer of 2019 at BWFC? We know that Wigan have a habit of trying to copy all things BWFC but it's getting ridiculous now.
May 23, 20233 yr Wonder if this designated bank account has received the 125% of the monthly wages yet. Tick tock
May 23, 20233 yr They've given McLean a new one year contract. Which of course means another couple of encounters with the cunt next season. He's classed in the same category as the societal dropouts in Lonsdales who were dancing around Nat's statue a few years ago.

May 24, 20233 yr "even if we start off on minus 8 points we will still be challenging for promotion" said a deluded Wigginer at work, they really don't understand the gravity of their situation
May 24, 20233 yr Turns out McClean was never out of contract. It was extended last summer, on sky high wages no doubt. Lovely.

May 24, 20233 yr Still not been paid and they have up to 23:59. If they had it it would be in. Simple. pay day next fri too
May 24, 20233 yr Do we hope it goes completely sour and they go out of business? Or do we hope they linger in to next season, badly damaged and vulnerable to a couple of good tonkings from us? The debate goes on - but events are going to overtake our speculation quite rapidly now. #believe

It’s the hope that kills you so leave them a little bit . can see the EFL not letting them start the season if they don’t deposit the money . the other thing you would of thought that the season tickets sales would of covered the amount they have to bank Edited May 24, 20233 yr by Farnywhite

And once this fella finally clears off then they’ll more or less settle back at their natural level of flitting between the third and fourth tiers.

May 24, 20233 yr Just been confirmed in there local rag money as not been payed and no one can get in contact with the owners . Another minus 4 incoming 😂 Edited May 24, 20233 yr by Farnywhite
May 24, 20233 yr Such a Shame I'm sure their shithouse fans will go back to being armchair Liverpool, city or united fans now.

Another minus 4 incoming 😂 Another -4, except they're inches from being defined as 'not able to show they can survive the season'. At which point the EFL's rules say they shouldn't be allowed to start it. The number of promises & guarantees they've given & subsequently not met has moved beyond 'difficulties' to 'downright lies'. Who will trust them now ? We've been there with dishonest owners and it's not nice. Good.
