December 13, 200421 yr used to work for a company who did this my advice go to the web site for ultralase and check out the forum there that will tell you a lot about how past and current patients rate the service treatment aftercare etc on balance they would be my first choice on the high street so to speak after the larger clinics it all gets very expensive. Dont go to the cheapest provider and dont always go for the 2k and eye fellas if you have a basic perscription its just a waste of money paying for a surgeon that only comes into his own when you have a problem which is not very often. long sightedness can be treated but the range they can treat is smaller how old are you? you will need to have glasses for reading at 45ish so is there much point in coming out of glasses for few years time only to go back into them again for reading some people say yes to this question because one set of specs for reading is one thing but bi focals is another does not hurt if you have the more modern treatment once had it described to me as not being pleasent but not quite unpleasent either. and no where near as bad as going to the dentist prices not sure at the moment would say 2k both eyes would get you lasik and lasek on the high street anybody mentions PRK run a mile hope this helps any other questions just post em on ere
December 13, 200421 yr This surgery is highly recommended. I've heard Ray Charles banging on about it before. Is it true Swanny is hoping to go blind just so he can get a guide dog?
December 13, 200421 yr I used to be slightly short sighted so just wore glasses for work anyhow, I managed to bid on e-bay for laser treatment in Russia (normal price ??1,500 per eye e-bay price ??500 for both........) Anyhow this is me typing with my super jam jar glasses on On that day, far away, Jesus lay, angels were watching round his head And this is me typing without my glasses on adkal;ks a[oskdpj piosdjf aposjk Go for it I say, it's a bargain

December 13, 200421 yr Had it done about Sept 2001 at Optimax using PRK. (www.optimax.co.uk) Cost me just over a grand. Recuperation was a bit long but the end result was perfect vision which I still have now. WN7 is right - its surprisingly not that bad having the operation. The worst thing was the smell. At the time, Optimax were saying PRK was still OK in certain cases but this may have changed since. LASIK is the newer method which has a much quicker recuperation but the surgeon has to lift the top layer of the eye and laser the cornea underneath. Not for the faint hearted. My eyesight pre-op was short-sightedness of 3.5 dioptres in both eyes.
December 13, 200421 yr I have had it done in 1999! Best investment thus far and I would recommend it! I had mine done at opitimax! I was however short sighted, not long sighted and it did'nt hurt! The worst experience for me was the fukin' valium they give you before the laser treatment! In 1999 it was practice to have one eye done then return the week after to have the other eye done! I was that ill with the valium I insisted in not having any before the laser treatment on my other eye and only had eye drops! Much better. How the fcuk smackheads cope with taking that valium shit I don't know! Anyhow, 5 years on and eyesight still the same! Excellent vision, no glassess and cash saved. It cost me ??1500! I hope it lasts a lifetime anyway! PM me if you need more details!
December 13, 200421 yr After years of being a speccy t*at I have decided to have this laser thingy done. Questions are :- Anyone had it done, pros and cons How much is it Can it be done if your long sighted DOES IT HURT You'll still be a speccy pussy cos of the red mark on the bridge of yer nose. Not quite in the same vein - but I had a cataract operation / lens implant around 15 years ago due to some eye damage. 3 days after the operation I went back for a check up and my vision had blurred a bit again. The specialist does a pressure test. Next he says pop on the bed as I need to give you an injection to sort the swelling out, as it shouldn't be blurred. Now, being a man I hate injections so I said where, arm or backside. No, your eye. What, near my temple, in my cheek? No, your eye. F??ck off, you're having a laugh. NO I'm not - If I don't do this you will lose the sight in that eye. Don't worry, we'll put some drops in to freeze it so you won't feel it. Faced with that I had the injection, and didn't feel a thing. until the drops wore off about an hour or so later. Then it hurt. Serious sharp stabbing pain. Only for about a day and a half - like a red hot poker in yer eye. 15 years on and I still don't need glasses, so I'll let him off.
December 13, 200421 yr I went to Ultralase 18 months ago but they said I had crap eyes (thought that was the idea) and they refused to it as I was very borderline. [-( Bit gutted really that I have to wear my giggs. Maybe try in a couple of years time ! [-o<
December 13, 200421 yr far as i know, worse your sight, more likely to do it, as theres an 'error factor' anyway, get monthly contacts not the same chance - however slim - of it going wrong, and you being blind
December 13, 200421 yr far as i know, worse your sight, more likely to do it, as theres an 'error factor' Thats exactly right Casino! My fukin' prescription for my eyes was Stevie Wonder category plus I was told I had a 'thick' cornea so they could laser quite a bit off!
December 14, 200421 yr told myself i'm going to wait a couple of years and then see if i still want it. got contacts at the moment which ae bleeding annoying. and it would be nice ot actually wake up and not have to fumble round the room for where i left my specs.. seems prices havent changed much recently..
