Wasn’t the KO time set originally because someone decided the fans needed an extra half hour for the travel difference between travelling to Burnden Park and Reebok?

25 years later and maybe we’re getting used to it.

Can we try for occasional Wednesday games as well, please?

It’s the traffic around the 61 as well. I’ve seen the argument of well the EFL cup ko’s at 7, yeah there’s also a difference of 10,000 fans

It’ll be 7:45 ko

It wS, in the origins, a bye-law set by Hirwich Council, to respond to all sorts of complaints from the houses off Chorley New Road, to the side of St. Joseph's school.

A great deal of 'whatifery' took hold at that time as residents sat & dreamt up all sorts of evils.

By-laws can be changed, of course, and maybe they have been already, but until they are 8pm will remain.

For first couple of seasons every street off CNR had a big yellow sign. Something along the lines of, “Resident Parking Only”

Folk ignored it on the grounds, I pay my Road tax, this is a road, I’m entitled to park.

The club can (and have previously) applied for exemptions, mainly when TV has dictated a 7.45pm kick off. Not sure how much of a faff it would be to get it completely written off though.

Not that onerous, if there's a will to ignore the actual voters ... or if the actual voters have become less strident.

But it still has to happen.

Applying for exemptions shows that it was still in place at that time.

You allowed to use them?

Had to ask permission once when I had my ankle in plaster.

Nope.

Likewise used them once when on crutches after a knee op.

I'm sure they add a flight every pre season.

If starting at 7:30 means you get your kids off to bed 30 mins earlier then it's a piss poor reason. Keep it at 8 for me. Less of a rush getting up to H town.

So miss dad and lads buying season tickets.

And dad's probably going... Do you know what I'll just buy the odd game for us both

And then never buying the odd game.

Them 7pm papa John's shows there loads like that... Will take kids for night matches but not getting home near 11.

Not sure we'll get anything but 7.45 tbf. That will make fuck all impact in terms of crowd numbers in reality.
