Close call I'd say Gerrard Rodgers has a decent enough track record, plays decent stuff, and had Leicester top half (four times) and top 5 (twice), just looks like this reign has come to an end Gerrard isn't looking like someone who can manage a top half team

I found myself getting annoyed on Burton fans behalf when he was on Super Sunday, less than a day after another defeat. It wouldn't sit right with me if that was our manager while we were bottom of the league. Also he seems to be an advocate of anti-football if our games against them are anything to go by, so although he seems like a decent bloke, good riddance. Pablo
Looks like its Potter, and moaybe they had been quietly arranging that for a while, couple of player "swaps". Be a massive step for Potter, he has not even managed 1 game in Europe.

He'd have to win the league or champions league to at least get 2 years out of it unless they have a massivr culture change. Stick it out at Brighton and wait for the England Job.. Its a shame, but these massive clubs jobs are bigger than the England job these days, and any average manager can get that job later on in career, like Southgate and many of the last few England jobs. Just cant see it working for him at Chelsea though, like you say. Massive culture diff.

He'd be nuts not to take it. He could turn the job down, have a bad start to next season with Brighton and then be sacked ... and then never get the opportunity to manage an elite club again. Rumours are that Rodgers is due to get over £10m compo if he gets sacked. Might explain the delay. Chelsea wouldn’t blink at that amount but it’s a big chunk for Leicester. athywhite1958
I like Potter, goes about his business without courting controversy, potential future England manager, I hope Chelsea don't fuck him up (if he goes there)
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 7, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted September 7, 2022 I always thought that despite looking like a ww11 kommandant, TT always spoke very well and wasn't dogged with some of the evasive nature often exhibited by others. Shame really.

He was under pressure 5 months ago. From Feb to early April, they couldn't score, lost 2-0 at Utd, 2-1 at Newcastle and 5 consecutive homes were 0-3 v Burnley, 0-2 v Villa, 0-2 v Liverpool, 0-2 v Spurs, 0-0 v Norwich. Brighton fans were booing and Potter had a go at them, reminding them where they'd come from. Good manager, deserves a crack at a top club. Liverpool more likely to give a new manager time than Chelsea I reckon. He should wait until just before the new year when that job will be available. 💣
jmjhb
England more likely to appoint an unemployed manager after Southgate. More chance of him getting sacked at Chelsea 😅
