Close call I'd say Gerrard Rodgers has a decent enough track record, plays decent stuff, and had Leicester top half (four times) and top 5 (twice), just looks like this reign has come to an end Gerrard isn't looking like someone who can manage a top half team Quote

I found myself getting annoyed on Burton fans behalf when he was on Super Sunday, less than a day after another defeat. It wouldn't sit right with me if that was our manager while we were bottom of the league. Also he seems to be an advocate of anti-football if our games against them are anything to go by, so although he seems like a decent bloke, good riddance. Quote

deane koontz Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Well, at least Pep chucked him a Champions League by being a clever cunt Quote
Pablo Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Looks like its Potter, and moaybe they had been quietly arranging that for a while, couple of player "swaps". Be a massive step for Potter, he has not even managed 1 game in Europe. Quote

He'd have to win the league or champions league to at least get 2 years out of it unless they have a massivr culture change. Stick it out at Brighton and wait for the England Job.. Quote

Its a shame, but these massive clubs jobs are bigger than the England job these days, and any average manager can get that job later on in career, like Southgate and many of the last few England jobs. Just cant see it working for him at Chelsea though, like you say. Massive culture diff. Quote

He'd be nuts not to take it. He could turn the job down, have a bad start to next season with Brighton and then be sacked ... and then never get the opportunity to manage an elite club again. Quote

Lt. Aldo Raine Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Their new owner is a bad'un. I can feel it in my bones. Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 I'm just amazed Rodgers has outlasted him. Quote

Rumours are that Rodgers is due to get over £10m compo if he gets sacked. Might explain the delay. Chelsea wouldn’t blink at that amount but it’s a big chunk for Leicester. Quote
London Wanderer Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 5 points off the top... Season only just underway. Beyond me. Football has gone mad. Quote
Not in Crawley Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Stupid decision that, Tuchel is a great manager. Ah well, a couple of close mates aside, couldn't care less if they sunk like a stone. Quote
Mannyroader Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Potter talking to Chelsea with Brighton's permission. Decision to ditch TT taken some time ago. Source Sky. Quote
athywhite1958 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 I like Potter, goes about his business without courting controversy, potential future England manager, I hope Chelsea don't fuck him up (if he goes there) Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 I always thought that despite looking like a ww11 kommandant, TT always spoke very well and wasn't dogged with some of the evasive nature often exhibited by others. Shame really. Quote

He was under pressure 5 months ago. From Feb to early April, they couldn't score, lost 2-0 at Utd, 2-1 at Newcastle and 5 consecutive homes were 0-3 v Burnley, 0-2 v Villa, 0-2 v Liverpool, 0-2 v Spurs, 0-0 v Norwich. Brighton fans were booing and Potter had a go at them, reminding them where they'd come from. Good manager, deserves a crack at a top club. Quote

Liverpool more likely to give a new manager time than Chelsea I reckon. He should wait until just before the new year when that job will be available. 💣 Quote
jmjhb Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 England more likely to appoint an unemployed manager after Southgate. More chance of him getting sacked at Chelsea 😅 Quote
jmjhb Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Didn't realise Gary O'Neil was caretaker boss at Bournemouth. Good luck to him Quote
