Duck Egg
Well that was a lovely trip down memory lane! I'd forgotten how well it was written tbh. Some of the descriptions took me right back there. Book ordered and back issues enquired about!

Appeared in the last ever White Love and was written by a well-known ex-poster from here. A few names changed. Marc505
Been enjoying trawling through everything on the site so far, I never had chance to read any of them at the time so it's all news to me! I liked this from @gonzo in the new articles bit too, quality. "Big horrible away followings full of every notright the town has to offer. Morecambe was our Hull, Crewe was our Mansfield. Nothing captures the buzz for an 11-year-old boy like those kind of days. My lad bowling in to school on Monday morning speaking of pitch invasions, police escorts and last minute winners." Saw a lad on crutches hobbling down the road in Darcy Lever. Said he was going to the offy. Told him to jump in. First person I’ve ever seen waving crutches out of the sunroof going down the motorway…. And he was the first person I’ve ever seen at a motorway services winning the cuddly toy machine… with the clamping claw. Always thought they were 100% greased and fixed. Apparently there was a Wanderer in the mid 80s used to take a camera to most games, got some great pics of all the pre- and post- match action…. Including a famous battle in the Market Tavern, Wigan where a certain “colourful” lad from Stoneclough got stabbed/slashed….. be really interested to track these photos down. Judge Fudge
Pretty sure I bought every issue of every fanzine from Trotters Revival (in Balmoral late 80s), HWGA( Tony Coffey?), White Love and it’s other names and one by a lad from Farnworth (Chris Mcglinn?…decent footballer in his day) Ex missus binned them all. Gonna have to buy all the old copies…loved reading them. Not related to Bolton fanzines but remember reading an issue of Red Issue where the author spoke about a Bolton V Stoke match he attended early 90s and said the violence was akin the the chaos he experienced at Old Trafford during the 70’s
