Not really.

You arent ready for that, you're not even looking at the ball, you're trying to anticipate where its going next so your feet are set so you can move quickly to cover wherever she lays it off to.

When she backheels it you have about 0.2 seconds to cancel all the above and try to make the save.

When a striker is through on goal in a 1v1, through the legs isn't uncommon and its miles easier to save as youre expecting the shot.

Nowts said about that though.

Agree. She was also partially un-sighted by the defender, by the time she sees it, it's very difficult to react.

Goalkeepers and outfield players don't stand with the feet touching, so occasionally they get 'megged.

No doubt she'll be disappointed she didn't manage to get a foot across to block the ball- the commentator did say from her experience the keeper's feet aren't the quickest- but it's not as easy as it's portrayed in some quarters.

I think you'd all agree that in the year of 2022 we shouldn't be referring to them as Lionesses, it's extremely sexist.

Haha. Heard that the other day.

If that's the case then all actual female lions will need to just be referred to as lions. It'll make wildlife documentaries a bit more confusing.

Wife was telling me that “Feminine Hygiene” in supermarkets has now been replaced with “period products”. What the fuck!! Did it really need changing just to adapt to a tiny minority?
