Don't see why women can't present & commentate on men's football. As long as they've got the talent, which some have.

i dont think they have, generally - and theres plenty that haven't getting jobs

as an aside, it was either mail or express so to be taken with a pinch of salt, but the story went that the players have objected to white shorts as it could be embarrassing for a few days a month - loads of countries play in white shorts, ffs

they also reported wimbledon faced challenges to its all white ruling for similar reasons

Seems a fairly logical and sensible issue to be addressed really. If your cock spurted blood for a few days every month, and there was a massive societal stigma about it, would you be happy running around in white shorts? Even that situation isn't comparable, as the blatant mysogyny in this thread already proves. Why does anyone give the slightest fuck about what colour shorts female footballers wear? "YOU HAVE TO WEAR WHITE!". Why?

Plenty women live & breathe the men's game & follow their team week in week out

Let's cut the crap , it's rubbish inferior version of the game we know and love

Is exactly what fans of City, Liverpool and probably about 50 other clubs could say about us.

OK you win , let me know when you have purchased your season ticket to watch women's professional football.

It will find it's level eventually. All the meddling and 'positive discrimination' in the world won't make it mainstream because it will always be second or even third rate.

Simply an extension of the current overhyped desire to be seen to be 'doing the right thing' exhibited by media outlets and the legion of virtue signallers. You can't polish a turd but can roll it in glitter seems to fit the bill.

Pleased the lasses won 8-0 as I had heard the Norwegian coach and one of their players telling the press what they were going to do to England. Watched a bit of it but gave up in the end.

I wasn't talking about the quality of women's football compared to the men's game. We were talking about female presenters & commentators.

Aye

Think being a presenter & commentator is different though & doesn't need to be someone who has played. Plenty men that are given the job because of their fame in the sport but are shite at running a radio show or TV programme. Balance a good female commentator or presenter with an experienced male pundit & it's a good balance.

Edit - Anyone but Thogden

All very true.

Thing is, unless you have a vested interest in a non-league or a kids' team then nobody gives a shit about them.  Just like women's football.  What gets people's goat is when things like England's all time lead goalscorers are published and you've got both men and women's names in there combined.  It just makes a mockery of it.

The way the media are making out that the whole country cares about this tournament is a blatant lie.  It ranks alongside England U-18 tournaments.  Most folk have a passing interest and want them to do well, but that's about it.

Same goes for the men's team.

I don't think (and I reckon nor do you) the two are comparable at all.

Only in hype. A lot of people don't give a fuck about football at all, even if/when the England men's team get to a major final.
