We're in need of a scapegoat...

does seem that way

santos, johnston, kachunga, dapo, MJ and john never seem far from being picked out

i put it down to people writing em off on day 1 and refusing to be won over

i wrote jones off, but couldnt be happier with him, now

still not sure about baka but his record is keeping me quiet

This.

Johnston was excellent last Saturday - not sure that the guy who said he was poor saw the game. I think he's definitely more physical than last season and he was consistent pre season.

Iredale is stronger than John physically. but probably not as much as an attacking threat.

I mentioned Johnston being poor, mainly because he was.

He made some good recovery blocks and challenges in the first half, but the second half I thought he was caught all at sea a number of times. Not to say I don't think he is or can be good, just didn't have a good second half and I think it's definitely fair to say he's undersized for the position and has a tendency to get bullied by the more physical sides.

I think we've got a superb squad, there's many options & permutations to go at, the 5 subs rule plays into our squads strengths & I'm confident that Evatt will get it right even if it starts wrong.

Very excited for this season, the squad attitude is superb, there's strength in depth & it's in our hands to get it right.

Superb fans buying into what's going on, great season ticket sales, the club trying to get it right off the field as well as on it. Exciting times ahead ... COYFWM

The squads superb no question but we’re still lacking in two main areas for me, being defensive midfield and Centre half. Toal may plug the CH position but that still leaves only MJ in DM, so if he gets injured or loses form we don’t really have an option. I originally thought Dempsey might be that but having seen him he’s more another creative alternative of which we have many. I like Johnson but he is slightly small for a CH and does get pushed around a bit by the big strikers in L1. Similarly at the attacking end he offers little or no threat as set pieces but then neither does Rico and he’s certainly big enough. Tomorrow will be a good test so let’s hope IE has the players to sort it because we need to beat these.

Horses for courses, & we should probably bring in more physicality tomorrow, maybe Aimson and/or Iredale.

It will be interesting to see if we have improved against the kind of physical/direct teams that we struggled against last season. Against these, conceding the first goal could be a problem with them being masters at time wasting & general shithousery. Horrible team, & it's time we beat them.

There are definitely negatives I could have said ... but the point is they are trying to get it right.

Don't get me started on the bollox going on with the 'crazy corner' , I have major issues around our fans being ostracised rather than pushing away fans further away from that corner for the sake of short term coin. Prime example, tomorrow, I think half of the South stand lower should have been sold to us! Unfortunately we're under pressure from GMP to make their lives easier whilst still charging us top dollar!

It does seem strange on the face of it that it isn't possible to buy 2 seats together in the lower tiers, or anywhere near the front of the upper tiers, yet we have about 4,000 spare seats in the South Stand.  Surely that has to be sorted for future games against the smaller teams

There's a danger of expecting Wycombe to be full of long balls and physicality only, has anyone seen their goals against Burton?  If we'd scored their first goal, intricate passing along the floor and a neat finish, we'd be shouting from the rooftops. 2nd goal, a winger (not big or physical) beat a couple of men and slotted it in from the angle; 3rd goal a pile driver from outside the box.  Not a long ball, header or set piece to be seen (unlike Ipswich against us).  Last year for all their time wasting and physicality, they scored 2 more goals we'd be proud to call our own.  These lot can play, I'm expecting a proper football game tomorrow.

Bang shit supported clubs in top tier

Or at least split lower tier and give us a couple of thousand seats, giving us more support at that end.  Plenty clubs split an end behind the goal eg Derby, Fulham, Forest, Southampton, Burnley, Hull, Luton, Reading, Stoke.

No one ever sat it in when we had half of it in the PL

No one is sitting in it now

It's not like the NSL is ever full

There are a few single seats available, very few.  ESL sold out and I can't remember the last time that happened for a routine game.  I'm not saying South Stand should be opened for every game, eg Morecambe on a Tuesday, but its logical to consider it for future surely.

Really? NSL never looks anywhere near full.

Surprised that there’s only singles left

I dunno, i know it costs a few quid more to sit in the NSU but I just can't see a case for doing so where a couple of thousand would come along meaning the NSU was full too

It would have to be a big game and more than likely that would include a big away following

Maybe one of them games where it's £5 and we're pushing for promotion

No need for any extra police costs.

There’s loads of seats in NSU, NSL, and WSU.

Get your flasks and Werthers, no worries.👍🏻
