Great to see that our fanbase is growing

In our league one opener in 2016 we got 17,000 against Sheff U but with 5,000 away fans

Last seasons opener against MK was 16,000

Today 17,500 with virtually no away fans. Great to see us grow!

Good analysis, especially with those dull days of that Sheff U opening game when 8 of our team was Buxton, Moxey, Wilson, Pratley, Spearing, Taylor, Vela, Madine who wouldn't get on our bench now.  But for a bit of balance compared to last year, S/Ts are cheaper now which also means more people buying that don't attend, as seen today with all the empty seats in the "sold out" sections.  Its difficult to compare numbers against previous seasons, a better comparison that we'll never know would be income today v income previous seasons.

Just my take but I see John as better going forward, in a game like today on a perfect surface, sun shining, team on top form, he would have been in his element, he's a class act offensively.  Iredale a decent 7 out of 10 performance but felt he was lacking at times defensively, and only very occasionally did his physicality prove useful compared to what DJ would offer.  Neither are faultless, but with either of those 2 playing every week, left back wont be a problem position.

On his game DJ can be electric going forwards, just don't think he has shown it for a while and today Iredale was a threat and put in a few cracking balls. It is very good competition to have on that side.

Today was fantastic.  The best I've seen from us since that Sunderland game.  But the difference today was Wycombe could have scored 2 or 3 today with better finishing (and we should have scored 5 or 6 really) but Sunderland didn't have a goal in them that day.  They were truly terrible, I didn't think WW were terrible, they were just beaten by the better side.

Bradley, what a player.  Definite upgrade on Fossey.  Everyone was class today, including the subs.  All round, a pleasure to witness that game and the "glad to be here" atmosphere from pre-kick off to the last minute spoke volumes.

The only downside was the ref, unbelievably poor.

On the ref, just seen the disallowed goal again the keeper is tripped by their player who has Dapo in a bear hug !

Iredale did lose a few headers to a smaller player but overall I thought was good.

I watched it back multiple times, MJ was being man handled as was Dapo, but ref was itching to give the a free kick. Bollocks decision

He’d made his mind up it was a Wycombe free kick before the corner was even taken, the second the ball left the corner takers boot, he whistled for a free kick to Wycombe.

Utter “look at me” tvvat, just like the rest of ‘em.

Other than the disallowed goal, I thought the ref was alright, but I suppose when you win 3-0 it's easier to say that.

Surprised to read some think Iredale isn't as good defensively. I think he looks far more solid than John defensively, just his presence alone being quite a big lad helps with that. Didn't notice any headers he lost but that flick he did in the second half was beautiful.

Today was probably in the top 5 performances I've seen since relegation from the Prem. Everyone was great and you can really see the tactical detail coming to fruition now. We look really well drilled and coached.

One player who I haven't seen praised from today, because others were perhaps more outstanding, is Bakayoko. His first touch isn't always the best, but he is such a nuisance and I know a lot of people would probably have put Bodvarsson ahead of him in the pecking order but I thought today he was a real handful and has come on leaps and bounds technically since he joined us.

Great win with the added bonus of meeting Boby Brno, Little Whitt, Anewman, Smiley, Bowtun Baked and a few others my brain is currently too fried to remember. I'll be better when the fog has cleared tomorrow.

Superb win.

Been on here long enough to know you're not back in the mother town too often. Genuinely happy for you mate that you were treated to a victory and performance as good as that on your return. 👍

What a performance and kept shouting when we scored, huddled round my phone by the pool in the Dominican Republic - not many English either, so all a bit bemused.

Dempsey, Morley and Bradley were immense.

they had a few chances, but we could and should have had more.

just brilliant - I trust all that went enjoyed 😎

What a performance, what a great day!

Could've been 6

When your 3 bowt up and Bodvarrson comes on as a sub, you're excited for more. Great squad, strength in depth, exciting times ahead.

Finally got the Wycombe Monkey off our backs.

What's not to like, watch out Vale, we're on our way

Nice to meet you pal, short but sweet, as I said meet up with you pre Morecambe for a pint & chat. That today was well worth your trip, all the best 👍

Glad you got a win

Thank you sir. Hoping for a good few more before I disappear again.

Can't go to Vale now, have to be in London for 4 days starting Friday. I am sure I will get to watch it somewhere. Plenty of BWFC fans where I will be staying.

Using the old cliche, one game at a time. Win Tuesday next on the agenda.

Great tribute to Syd Farrimond by the way. I remember his clearance against Liverpool in the League cup (which we won 3-2 in 1967) that hit the facia of the Manchester Road stand and a lump of wood fell and hit a fan.
We’ve just hammered Liverpool,  Do dah, do dah.
One for the older fans.😊

Unforgettable night that. As you say, fantastic tribute to Syd. Dust in my eye and all that.

He (Bolty) was sat behind me at the match with Duncan Rothwell who's dad was Teddy Rothwell secretary at BWFC in the 70's and 80's, we had a good catch up

Sorry R - you were one that I missed off the list of WWays types I bumped into yesterday. I was looking at the back of your bonce for most of the match ;)

Not got the exact stats for Teddy but I know he played from 1932 til around 1950 then became the club secretary in 1957 and retired in 1980. As you well know, his lad is BWFC obsessed.

Good to see you looking so spry yesterday mate. All that jumping around and going berserk when we score needs to be curbed mate. Rubbed off on me ;) Have a Werthers instead :D

Thanks mate. As others have said, the feelgood factor around the place reminds me very much of successful seasons past. Every element seems to be right - management, support, player quality, confidence. That equation usually results in success.

Early days yet but I can see this season being one to remember for all of the right reasons.
