Positives. Fan Zone , was there at 12 , smashed 2 pints of Trotters ( Westcott ipa). Had a kebab from Shumas snacks ,bloody lovely.  Spoke to Phil Mason, had a hug off Shazza. Ashburner

  • Ricketts was the best striker in the country for a short spell. Absolute powerhouse that beasted the worlds best defenders after smashing the championship to pieces. As much as I like Bakayoko, t

The blue painting of the concrete walls for the staircases look good but they forgot the upper west. Sort it out Sharon.😊

Ha also noticed that. That will blag my head big time staring up at that each game. Hope they’re just waiting on some more paint or time to complete.

Very very good performance. Played some great stuff. Bradley was superb. Dapo unplayable at times. Everyone else played well too.

Come On You Whites!!!

Excellent result still think Wycombe was a flash in the pan last season can’t see them finishing top 6

fanzone early days but 35 mins to get served from 12.30 is utter dogshit

onto vale

What do you expect with 1500 free pints. Wasn’t a good idea to do that on the first day.

I very much doubt 1500 took the offer up

I had 3 tickets on my table which lads gave me and I forgot to take, I didn’t see many showing ipswich tickets

Yep, I took 2 but walked straight out after seeing the 30 minutes queue.

Should extend it for Sheff Wed game.😁

Ey I tell you what, new blue paint looks good from a distance but up close... they just chucked paint at it or what? My seat covered in it 😂

had a good chat to @bolty58 in the hotel after

nice to see him

he got a couple of books of  Smiley

He (Bolty) was sat behind me at the match with Duncan Rothwell who's dad was Teddy Rothwell secretary at BWFC in the 70's and 80's, we had a good catch up

Love Dempsey & Morley together in the middle of the park with Williams sitting deeper. Bradley was superb.

A couple of stadium gripes though-

Madri bar in the ESL with a guy holding the fort, me “pint o’ Madri please” “Not open till the next game mate” wtf? You’ve had 3 fucking months to get it organised.

ESL Bar, “hot dog please”  barmaid -“not got any ready love, maybe have some at half time” wtf?

Had a look at the Fanzone, but with 100 folk queueing to get in at 2pm, we decided to just have a drink on the Esl concourse, where the wait time for a drink is no shorter since we went cashless.

Apart from that, the football was fantastic & thoroughly enjoyed today

Gonna be an epic season, bring it on!

Well that's was proper ace

Outstanding team performance

I would actually say that it was better than the Sunderland win

Today was fantastic.  The best I've seen from us since that Sunderland game.  But the difference today was Wycombe could have scored 2 or 3 today with better finishing (and we should have scored 5 or 6 really) but Sunderland didn't have a goal in them that day.  They were truly terrible, I didn't think WW were terrible, they were just beaten by the better side.

Bradley, what a player.  Definite upgrade on Fossey.  Everyone was class today, including the subs.  All round, a pleasure to witness that game and the "glad to be here" atmosphere from pre-kick off to the last minute spoke volumes.

The only downside was the ref, unbelievably poor.

Or ESL

Was in the ground just after 2 and watched the training drills etc,   as daft as it may sound but it just looked like a well oiled/drilled outfit.    Things just looked right,  was also interesting to see mr evatt just stand and watch wycombes warm up drills.

Things just look right.      Let's not get to giddy though yet

Was a shocker he was, gave us fuck all.

Dempsey & Morley should be starters every week

Sounds like a pair of private detectives.

Great to see that our fanbase is growing

In our league one opener in 2016 we got 17,000 against Sheff U but with 5,000 away fans

Last seasons opener against MK was 16,000

Today 17,500 with virtually no away fans. Great to see us grow!

He was no better or worse than DJ defensively, but thought he was slightly better going forward than DJ has been recently.  Good competition for that spot and hopefully they will push each other on

Just my take but I see John as better going forward, in a game like today on a perfect surface, sun shining, team on top form, he would have been in his element, he's a class act offensively.  Iredale a decent 7 out of 10 performance but felt he was lacking at times defensively, and only very occasionally did his physicality prove useful compared to what DJ would offer.  Neither are faultless, but with either of those 2 playing every week, left back wont be a problem position.

Great contrast. You’d have a +1 but I’m all out.

I think Morley is with Santos as the 2 nailed on starters every league game they are available.  But Dempsey can be interchanged with Lee, Sheehan and Sadlier, all class acts.  Lee is a better footballer if he's on his game, that's no criticism of Dempsey of course, just my opinion and I'm hoping he gets a start on Tuesday.

From memory of familiarity visits when the ground first opened, the PA had the facility to be targeted towards individual stands. The thinking was that an emergency evacuation of the North Stand doesn’t need a panic in the other stands. Perhaps it’s simply a single channel for East broken. After all, I don’t think the PA has been upgraded in 25 years.

Good analysis, especially with those dull days of that Sheff U opening game when 8 of our team was Buxton, Moxey, Wilson, Pratley, Spearing, Taylor, Vela, Madine who wouldn't get on our bench now.  But for a bit of balance compared to last year, S/Ts are cheaper now which also means more people buying that don't attend, as seen today with all the empty seats in the "sold out" sections.  Its difficult to compare numbers against previous seasons, a better comparison that we'll never know would be income today v income previous seasons.
