Looks an absolute fridge, would love to see more of him. Really, really positive all round that, after a pretty slow start. John was not having a good game at all, deservedly hooked. Iredale was far more on the pace. John aside, really good performance all round; even Aimson was pinging lovely crossfield balls. The strength in depth we have now really is frightening, imagine having to face Dapo and Bradley after you've just been blown away for 80 minutes. Not seen a replay but Thomassons red looked ridiculous on first view, I'm sure he got the ball first. Quote
marple whites Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Great win and shows a real winning mentality along with a depth of squad. let’s keep this wagon rolling. Quote
Take Hunt Off Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 How encouraging was that ! I know their league One but eight changes & conspire to go 1-0 down , in the past we’d be grasping at a draw or praying for penalties This squad has improved so much in such a short space of time it’s the beginning of something special . Think as an owd un you get cynical over the years but heyho that ‘on the way up ‘ feeling is unmistakable ,  it’s contagious and bears comparison to the early seventies , late seventies & early nineties when the Wanderers were definitely coming up the hill .     Quote

Would love to do Port Vale but got to work. I'm 53 but feel like a giddy 18 year old. COYWs Quote
briannz Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Just watched replay of game and all i can say is if that was a second eleven we must have a bloody good first eleven. Not sure how we can keep, all, these good players happy but if we do we will have a great chance of promotion. Just a mention for George Thomasson,he sometimes gets stick fro some people but he is going to be a good player for us. ‘Oh and the sending off was a joke it should get cancelled. Quote

Feel sorry for Neil Woods, he’ll be getting sacked today. That Asante fella looked decent first half but faded in the second, but we ran them ragged to be fair. Iredale I thought looked very good when he came on, including his attacking strength. Kachunga had one of his best games too, got some pace to be fair. Didnt think anyone was poor. John not too bright but wouldn’t go as far as poor. Bradley’s goal - quality. He’s going to be a real player Quote
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted August 10, 2022 Site Supporter Posted August 10, 2022 Just seen the red card - Thomason won it clean as whistle, not even a foul in my book. I was happy to see it was Thomason though, I thought it was Iredale and feared John was injured leaving us with a problem for Saturday. Quote
CambridgeBWFC Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 The red card is ridiculous, he wins the ball and if the referee is giving that for lunging into a tackle out of control regardless of winning the ball or not, then the challenge 3 seconds before from the Salford player is the same if not worse than thomassons as he looked to have both feet going in.  Refereeing is such a joke at the lower levels Quote
Traf Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Declan John unwell with some virus apparently. Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Good to see Kachunga putting in a lively performance, I’ve been a big critic, he’s obviously got ability but rarely has he put a shift in or shown it. Quote

Members bolty58 Posted August 10, 2022 Members Posted August 10, 2022 Well, this is alreet. Two games, two wins, 8 goals scored and only one conceded. Wish I could be at Port Vale! Back against Morecambe and Sheff Wed and hoping (expecting) more of the same. Everything about the place seems to be brimming with confidence and optimism. A great season ahead - of this I have no doubt. Surely that ludicrous red card will be reviewed? Standard of refereeing (especially v Wycombe) leaves a lot to be desired. Â Quote
Jol_BWFC Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Can’t find the stat, but haven’t pretty much all of our red cards over the last couple of seasons been rescinded? Scandalous really, because overturning them isn’t much use to us when we’re seeing out games with 10 against 11. Thankfully it mattered not a jot yesterday. Quote

Apparently they kicked Stoke off the pitch last night (according to Stokies so not entirely reliable) but we know Derek Adams and what he's all about. Hope we smash them with total football. Also need a strong ref Quote
