The B Team are playing Blackpool this afternoon. Expecting a strong team tonight.

At Bamber Bridge, 5 minutes from my gaff so I might nip round and have a look.

This big Irish lad’s supposed to be starting.

It'll probably be a similar team to the Salford game with squad players like Dixon, Aimson, Kachunga, Thomasson & Lee.

Saturday's defeat has changed my view & I'd prioritise the Plymouth game now, not risking injuries to a few of the 1st choice. At the same time, Gerrard is under pressure & can hardly afford to lose to us, so will probably pick a strong team & getting clobbered will do us no good. A fine balance.

I’d be surprised if Santos starts with foot issue. I can see Kachunga and Baka up top and Charles on bench ready for Saturday, which is a more important game.

Yeh Toal Sheehan and Isgrove

Great game so far.

Brilliant pass from Sheehan to set up the goal.

Two absolutely fantastic saves from Hutchinson, and a Van Bastenesque effort from Isgrove that smashed against the bar.

Evatt’s watching from the stands.

I’ve got a feeling that Isgrove will have been left behind a little bit with our progression with his injury but I really hope he’s got enough to stay around the squad

Going off a previous IE comment he’s lined up to be an able RWB deputy. He did ok there previously and frees Sadlier up to move where we all think he’d be most effective

How have Sheehan/Toal/Izzy shaped up?

Can’t say I’ve got anything to say about villa as a club. It’s a bit meh! But fuck me their fan base I cannot stand! Delusions of grandeur of the highest order

talk of getting the job done by HT and bringing the kids in 🤦🏻‍♂️

They seem to forget that are a bang average prem side not so long in the champ who’ve won 3 out of 15. Playing away from home against an ok team who aren’t shrinking violets.

hope we get right in to em

Its a shame to hear people say they want us to play a 2nd string team, against a Prem team, live on Sky.  Don't we want to look at our best for the TV audience?  Even if we lose but give a good account of ourselves the atmosphere will be great for the hour that we compete and it will put the club in a good light and potentially attract new fans.  Rather that than being 2 down after 15 minutes and spending 75 minutes listening to Villa fans chanting empty seats.

All this resting players, when did they become incapable of 2 games in 5 days?  It isn't Easter or Christmas with 2 games in 3 days.  Play the best players tonight, and play the best players on Saturday, from those fit and available.  If one gets injured tonight, so what, we don't have an outfield player that can't easily be replaced.

Can’t see him resting anyone.

can see Thomasson etc coming on but he’ll go as strong as possible

for all the “free hit” and nothing to lose messages coming out IE will secretly believe we can turn these over

Sheehan looked really sharp, turning easily and pinging passes with both feet. Looks ready to me, but what do I know ?

Isgrove similar, playing sensibly, like he usually does, except for when he hit the bar from 30 yds - really spectacular effort.

Toal just played 45 minutes but looked good in the air. Their CF was a handful tbf but Toal did fine. Just easing him back.

                 Trafford

      Jones Santos Johnstone

bradley                           Iredale

                 MJ Morley

                     Lee

                 Dapo Charles

edit: Aimson could quite easily come in for either Jones or santos
