Aimson plays well when required.  Bradley took his goal well

Bako should have made it two, other than that it was not a memorable game. Three points in the bag but a performance like this on Saturday and we'll get turned over.

Not a great performance IMO. Disjointed and laboured against a team without their main man

Good grind to a win though

Aimson, Johnston and Dempsey best players IMO and Bradley is crucial

on we march, but not quite at our best stride and rhythm yet

I thought Morley was streets ahead our best attacker, was there a minute of the game he wasn't involved?  What an engine and football brain he has.  Agree Aimson our best defender, good player.

Dempsey flattered to deceive, very busy and involved, I was struggling to see much quality in the end product.  With having so much of the ball maybe we could have used Sadlier's better final ball/shooting.

Kachunga was poor aside from the goal, definitely a case of rotating the squad tonight (JDB poor as well but I'd have no problem with him starting virtually every game, he's quality).

Agree Bradley is playing insanely well so far.

Have a slight niggle it's because he's the unknown and gets a bye... See Dapo first half of last season and Fossey until people cottoned on that he was more of a threat than Dapo.

Right now though... Long may it continue.

Aimson. Morley and Bradley superb.

baka got to be scoring those.

got very nervy last 10, we need to kill these poor teams off, get the second, game over.

will need to be better Saturday, but a win is a win.

Morley for 85 grand. Rochdale got dry bummed there.

He did well tonight. Holding up, Linking and movement.

The 10s been around a bit now and he can play a bit

I think its a bit unfair to describe morecambe as shit

I think they do what they do very well

Batting well above their average

100% they do

Carbon copy of last year's game until the first goal. Makes all the difference in these turgid games

Officially they had one shot on target. The only thing I can think is the long kick out from the keeper that went through to Traf because other than that they had no shots.

They had a header from a free kick 2nd half that Trafford easily caught under the bar.  There were 2 or 3 outstanding blocks from, mainly, Johnstone.  They were outside the box, not sure if they count as shots on target?  Did we have one plus the goal?  Morley's superb free kick 2nd half, can't remember keeper making any other save at all, but that doesn't do justice to some of the good football we played.

Dion Charles was sat in Starbucks with Adam Senior (I think?) about an hour before kick off. Not a great game, but we dominated possession. Last 5 minutes were a bit nervey. Anyway, a win's a win.

Not quite the shallacking that this lot deserved after last season’s shenanigan and a bit nervier than it needed to be, but good to get the win nonetheless and another clean sheet to boot.

Thought Morley took a while to get in to his slightly more restrained role but got better as things went on. Dempsey outstanding again, covered every blade of grass.

Dion will be on for about 35 goals this season with the number of times we’ve said “Charles scores there” in the last few games.

Not a fan of giving abuse to the lad going off injured.

Was there history with him? Very harsh indeed

Happy with that.

Nasty looking injury for their lad right in front of me. Looked like his hamstring snapped to me. Pretty shitty giving him dogs abuse while he's getting stretchered off.

Morcambe were dreadful. I mean really, really bad.

Also noticed their fans treated us to a rendition of "you're just a town full of Paki's" - something that I've not heard that since about 1992.

Sooner they're flushed the better.

I wasn't too impressed with the injured lad getting booed, but I think if he doesn't get injured, he fouls Bradley from behind and gets a second yellow.

As for the game, we controlled it pretty much and it's only nervy at the end because JDB & Baka miss relatively routine headers.

I'm still baffled as to what Kachunga is. He's not a striker or a midfielder, nor is he a winger.

Was it not smack heads?

Morecambe were really poor, their defence over physical, too keen to get involved and dragged out of position. Pretty industrial and ineffective. Not sure what their game plan was, other than hang on and try and grab one on the break. Poor.

That's exactly the game plan.

Time-wasting and shithousing from the first whistle, then even more direct and more physical after we score.
It worked to an extent, as they were still in the game until the final whistle.

Happy with that .

No team is going to lie down for us every single point / win has to be earned.

We played well , yes sometimes moves were overplayed,  one more pass than necessary but that's with hindsight.

Roll on Saturday,  it will be LOUD and stressful.

Aye

I doubt they'd be daft enough to sing Pakis in retort to "you're racist, you know what you are"

Regardless though, was smack heads

Great win tonight. It’s a game we wouldn’t of won last season. They sat to defend which is entirely their prerogative.

Big shout for Aimson from me tonight. Solid performance on the little that came forward.
