If the games are off it will be nothing to do with respect and all to do with plod being unable to police them

They could call all games off til a week on tuesday for me, but its not going to happen

The plod situation was discussed on the news this morning.

Maybe all games scheduled for Sunday/Monday could be played on Saturday, if that gives them sufficient time to get ready for the funeral.

I have got a positive email from trainline finally after 2 negative ones .

You and try and keep the cost down buying singles but they give you Jack all protection

had an email today saying the best they can do is shift to another date but has to be Manc to Cheltenham

Give split my fare a go in future mate they often undercut Trainline prices and give decent protection or options to change dates if needed

I can't believe they haven't just agreed to a credit note or a deferral at first time of asking its not like there's some sort of niche barely known reason for needing to ask for it or that people are trying to pull a stunt. The customer service is woeful, total lack of understanding

Aye, i had 4 advance singles ,split at Birmingham, & got a long winded & not very clear email reply from Trainline this afternoon.

The gist of it seemed to be that my only option was to book new tickets to the same destinations on a different date & i'd only have to pay the difference or something (there was also some bollocks about needing to re-book before the time my original tickets were due out ,even though it was already past that time !! )

I'm pretty much resigned to not getting anything back on this one.

Yes sounds similar

its looking that way unfortunately, I got some tosh that a credit can’t be done but feel free to book Manc to Cheltenham again despite me saying on numerous occasions that another journey especially being midweek won’t be possible

Think that’s what’s swayed me… what’s the point of just knocking the football on the head, better way to celebrate her life was for the public to pay their respect at venues up and down the country… and why stop kids football on Sunday.. Barmy decision.

Just to be clear not all football was cancelled Eton College went ahead with their game. One rule for them.

Just wondering having watched the various tributes paid at events across the country if people think football would have done as good a job ?

I have no doubt football would have done as good job… perhaps with the exception of Celtic.

I was chatting with a Celtic fan last night, and asked if he thought they'd respect the minute's silence, etc. He was honest enough to admit that he thought the Scottish Celtic definitely would but was unsure if the Irish Celtic fans would.
