I am sorry but it is that type of eliteist thinking that contributes to the mess.

If you were talking solely about the rioters I would be close to agreeing, but there are 4 million who voted reform and 17.4M voted to Leave.

So if we take your theory through over 17m in the country have shit lives. Which is nonsense. Whilst the current levels of anger have been influenced by social media and accounts that someone is funding to spread a message , it does not mean everything they think is fuelled by their 'shit lives'

Thought I'd have a nosey, strangely..

Despite being one of the most developed countries in the world, the United Kingdom struggles with a fairly significant degree of poverty. As of 2022, around 11 million people in the UK were living in relative poverty, with that number increasing to 14.4 million when housing costs are considered.

tbh the number appears to be around that, but it's not a real correlation, people wanted to leave Europe for other reasons than just "immigration", just that's the focus..

You and I would agree that public services have been ground into dust by 14 years of the Tories and people have been told by Labour that there is no likelihood of things improving. Yes we need immigration but we have also done very little (public services run into the ground) to tackle people turning up in boats, we have not processed them so the problem builds. What is the plan with these people ? Process them, and then if rejected where do send them ? I have friends who are not right wing and certainly do not have shit lives but they do worry about the future for their kids, with public services collapsing where is the support infrastructure.

These people are nt rioting but they are genuinely unsure for their future.

I’m talking about the rioters not 17m Brexit voters, nor the reform voters that would be ridiculous to suggest 4 or 17M people have shit lives. I absolutely was not suggesting Brexit was voted for only by people with shit lives…i think that for those looting and rioting it was not a good thing but they probably did vote for it.

Some of the most well off people I know are very right wing and probably voted reform, or came close to, and definitely voted for Brexit, but they certainly don’t agree with the things happening on the streets.

Always a cracking idea putting asylum seekers up in nice hotels and accommodation in mainly deprived areas of the UK. You reap what you sow.

Well, the current Govt are reaping what the past one has sown. They're in hotels etc, because they haven't been processed, so this hotel situation could have been avoided.

As for nice hotels, they're in the Britannia on Beaumont Road, The Greyhound in Leigh and the Norbreck & Metropole in Blackpool. You'd struggle to find much shitter accommodation.

It’s basically people with shit lives who have always had shit lives where the financial crash and subsequent cuts in services and stagnant wage growth tipped the balance to make their lives just a bit too shit. Not unlike to be honest the conditions that led to the Nazis.

It’s easier to blame someone else. So the EU. They were to blame. Leave the EU and all would be good. No more Poles or Romanians stealing our jobs. Then that failed so it’s onto blaming immigrants we had to bring in from elsewhere to replace the eastern Europeans. And Muslims (who mostly aren’t immigrants).

The reality is that their shit lives would be made worse (like they have been through Brexit) if we stopped all legal migration tomorrow. But they’ve been fed a bunch of lies and misinformation for long enough that they are certain in their beliefs and their views regardless of evidence or data. We saw with Brexit there is no changing someone regardless of how ill informed they are.

It’s human nature really. Blame someone else rather than yourself. I guess we are all guilty of it.

All of that is not to say there aren’t genuine issues - there are - I’ve talked about stuff on here with the Muslim community and indeed immigration. We all know that things need to be improved and we need to consider how we can be a coherent society. We also need to bring down our reliance on immigration but that will take time. And stop people rocking up here uncontrolled. Again will take time and is more nuanced than is made out.

But this is all being manipulated - by actors who know what they are doing.

OMG thank you for mansplaning the whole situation

If you were only the Prime Minister this would be sorted before Sunday lunch

TBF Gonzo, Tommy is known for getting 'facts' wrong sometimes.

It's going to be a bad weekend I fear though. 😞

'Weekend'. You think it will stop there? What is coming has been predicted by some for decades.

Depressing.

Why would he tell them to drop their weapons off at a mosque if they weren’t armed. How on earth can you defend this?

Pretty simply. He is a dick of the highest fucking order and his attitude is typical of what has brought us to this point.

Great! The Greyhound hotel, just a couple of miles down the road from me, wonder who's paying for them to stay there? Also aslyum seekers were staying at the Fir Grove hotel in Grappenhall,  I  once went to a wedding there, very nice!

Georgian House applied to ‘host’ illegal immigrants in order to shore up their falling occupancy. They weren’t accepted onto the list. Maybe they were deemed to be not shit enough.

These worthless bullies and those cowards punching lone and innocent coloured lads may be labelled 'far right' correctly. They are cowardly fucking bullies for certain. Big and brave with a couple of hundred backing them up. I wonder if they'd be as big and brave one on one?

When the likes of you and the fucking BBC News uber cunts keep labelling concerned citizens and families protesting peacefully as 'far right', somewhere along the line these people might well think 'Fuck it. If they keep labelling us so let's act like it'.

Reprehensible behaviour that the likes of Starmer and the Stockport slag can't resist joining in with. Keep it up. Adding fuel to the fire.

Pathetic stuff. People are responsible for their own actions.

If only they were as capable as the lot who, until 4 weeks ago, had been running the country for 14 years

I'm not far right by any means and the knob heads in the video need dealing with (through the courts)

I'm all for protesting peacefully and voicing your concerns but this is bang out of order

They did it

because

Starmer told them to.

You've surpassed yourself.
