Oh and the likes of Dyson can fuck off even more.

See, this is where it gets blurred

His farms made (i think) 5 million last year

His farms do grow stuff

Including peas

Clarkson can fuck the fuck off.

I am sure there a fair few farmers near the cut that are fuming but they are few and far between in the grand scheme of things.

Mother’s side of the family are from over the hill in Yarkshire. Farming stock. Those struggling unfortunately aren’t just a few. Dairy have been royally fucked by the supermarkets. Sheep, again, by the insistence of stocking New Zealand lamb.

Clarkson may be an utter tool but he’s a famous one and helps their message

What am I missing here

Why arent these farms set up as a company with a board of directors?

Would that make them open to other taxation?

We know the Wigan ginge isn't the brightest bulb in the box but why constantly prove it?

One lot he mentions wants to send you back to the dark ages. The other wants to feed you.

Still, Wiganers would (attempt to - might not achieve to) vote for a cow if it wore a red rosette.

Why does he think I’m from Wigan?

Of all his mirthless running gags, that’s the weirdest.

Still, good to know Brexit is now being dismissed by all as any kind of saviour ☺️

We rarely all agree, pleased it’s finally happened.

Aye. It’s the likes of him and Dyson investing in agricultural land to avoid inheritance tax that has brought this on. The massive twats

All farmers need to do is get a Netflix series about running their farm and make sure they hire a young lad to do all the hard work, an accountant plus the village idiot.

I guess not many predicted a labour government 🤷🏻

Don’t forget people not being positive, that is the reason Brexit failed according to the Tory party. Might as well throw in the BBC, lefty lawyers, union paymasters, Covid and Jeremy Corbyn. That is the full Tory excuse list for the last 14 years.

That's crap.

Why can't he support his fellow farmers?

Is it because he's well off and can take the hit?

Another eat the rich comment.

He's done more with his series to highlight the difficulties they face, than anything or anyone in recent times.

His ventures into diversification are following government laws and guidance- something which applies to every farm- have shown the ridiculous conflict that occurs within planning and nimbies.

We can also see the ludicrous,  burdensome administrative requirements, and the poor performance of DEFRA in getting out SFI payments.

I've seen it first hand, with a hedge replanting scheme kiboshed because of the concern over slow payments. In turn that cost me money.

The comment about rich folk avoiding tax by buying up farms is also wide of the mark. Obvious as it is, and as pointed out by a tenant farmer; is that their rents may have to go up, which they may not be able to afford. Another risk to their businesses.

When the main justification behind any scheme is that "it only affects a few" then it is a terribly poor do.

What's more 27%, or whatever they claim (it's different depending of which branch of government is appraoched) is not a small number.

They don't operate in the way other businesses do, and the food we have is underpriced, so be careful what you wish for.
