Doesn't make a massive difference, and if some clubs can benefit from energy savings then you can blame them.

For most, it wouldn't really make much of a difference.

With so many games moved for TV I agree will make little difference

Be interesting to see how this evolves and if any of the smaller clubs start talking of moving evening Kick offs to the afternoon

In a way Reminiscent  of the three day week in 1974 when sunday games were first introduced to spread electricity demand and a few weeks later when we had to play Southampton in an FA Cup game at Burnden Park on a weekday afternoon

Don't think so many people had ever before wagged school on the same afternoon

Club were happy to cash in - had to pay full adult prices to get in as officially kids were banned from attending that day

We also played Sunderland in an afternoon match during the 'power cuts', the next day at school our headmaster had us all lined up for the cane for wagging it, he was a Mackem and couldn't go to the game

Yep we won 1-0 and Peter Thompson took the piss all the game

lost the cup replay 2-0 after a battling 3-3 at Southampton

1:00pm isn’t very good for the away fans - 2hrs less time to get there. Exeter away would be a pain..

But surely you set off at a time to suit. Be honest, apart from the ‘upheaval’ of having to get out of your pit a bit earlier, it really makes no difference. In fact, you’d probably gain some time by the early start.

Depends

"Local" away games and home games are a pain if you do other things in the AM, like I do when I'm in charge of the little one

Further afield, maybe less so, more drinking time after isn't too bad either

All in all though, fuck 1pm
