Shit narrow pitches (Accrington, Cheltenham, FGR) are a different beast to large, carpet-like playing surfaces. I’d have no problem with him going back to 3 at the back and wingbacks for the next two home games. I’ll admit though, that formation does create a dilemma with Dapo.

Tbf that pitch today was like a bowling green. And I’m not sure it is THAT much smaller than anywhere else, just their pressing made it seem smaller.

At 2-0 we looked hopeless, and bloody hell if Santos hadn’t cleared off the line it might have been seven again. But wow what a comeback that was. Kachunga really brought a change of pace and intensity. And their centre halves clearly didn’t log on here beforehand because they looked absolutely terrified of him.

Maybe that should be Katchungas  new role - ‘impact’ sub.

Because he’s done fck all in the starting X1.

What a fucking top top day. Quick couple of hours at work, watch Matt dominate midfield in a 5-1 win, his manager lets him come off with 15 minutes left so he can fly over to Accrington and Kallums first proper away day. Kallum gets fucking ragged about all over the terrace when we come back to win from 2 goals down and theres a full on brawl between us and the stewards then we give the Little Lever Dugdale brothers a lift home and get to listen to them fucking astonished that the car drives its self

A game of two halves if ever there was one.

Mr Evatt was told quite loudly by the travelling masses to "sort it out" and to his credit he listened for once and made the changes needed.

A superb comeback  and the icing on the cake for me was that despite nearly 10 minutes added time, I stayed to the end, clapped the players off and still managed to drop Junior off at home by 5.20pm and I was back in Lancaster in the pub before 6.30.

Sat in the home end today & enjoyed the away limbs so much. Change in formation & unleashing Dapo in 2nd half gave us the win. Those slating  Kacha need a head wobble…

We’ll go up via the play offs 😉

I wasn't there but it sounds like he played like the best of Messi and Haaland.  Based on the last year or so, and its only personal preference, but I rate Sadlier as a better scorer and provider, in any position.

There was a case for Sadlier starting instead of Isgrove, the lad must be gagging for a start.

.

In IE we trust ‘an all that.

Accrington's pitch is exactly the same size as the Unibol

PART ONE

2-3 away win , great weather , abject 1st 50mins ,followed by 30mins of passion driven from the terraces . Without doubt yesterday was the loyal fans dayout , yes the first goal was the catalyst but the fans ignited the rest of the performance.

Let's start at 9.00am , Embankment loitering on Howfen Station.  Jeep appears ( early start for him) Not sure about the shorts alot of faith in the weather forecast. Train to Bolton then await for the 10am to Blackburn/ Accrington  Usual suspects on the platform. Youth cracking cans , GMP on board as we get on. ( unbelievable amount of police all day , apparently because a scuffle last season).

11.15 , Straight into the Warners for us . Walked past the Stanley and Bees Knees both of which already welcoming numerous Bolton Fans .( what ever the media say , local businesses love us visiting their towns ).

Unfortunately the Craft ale in the Warners was bloody terrible.  I did ask the barman if he was trying to poison me . " sorry I thought it might be off " Which left me a choice of Madri or John Smiths . Went for the Madri , did notice The Bats son in law supping bottles of Rekorderlig . Left Sputnik and Pinocheo's Dad holding court and headed to the Crafty Fox with Ash . Complete mistake no craft ale , but traditional chippy next door.  Returned to Warners with trays of chips for the lads , bloody lovely.

Another pint of Madri then headed to the Commercial.

The Bat , Sputnik , Early Dart , Padihams finest,  Mr Smith not for moving .

Woody and Swedish Al had already departed for The Crown.

Nice beer in the Commercial. Then a swift march up hill to Grey Horse with Howfen Baz and Talk Shite .

Loads of Bolton great banter . Into the ground disappointment all round at 45 mins. Half time ran into Mikkey D and the Ant Hill Mob , backed up with the Vegetarian Meldew family.

2nd half what a difference Dapo doing what he does best but he should have squared it for Kachunga to make it 4.

PART 2 , LATER ON

Chalk and cheese those 2 halves, but still missing guilt edged chances in the first half.

thought Dempsey was outstanding aa was dapo second half.

iredale was asking for the towel late on second half and the linesman said to him “your fans have thrown it in the roof” his face was a picture.

oh and Hamilton jumping in our end to get the ball (as they didn’t waste much time did they !) getting dogs abuse from this bloke and he just glared and pointed at him.

finally at full time a few of their under 10s offering us outside…..

very entertaining day.

Dempsey was tremendous yesterday and getting very vocal, personally I would have him as captain next season only concern with him he picks injuries up

Usual bi-weekly transport gripe but the cancellation of that service from Accrington to Preston after 6pm was a real shitter. As was the 2 carriages instead of 4 that were sent on the manc-Notts route later on, dangerously overcrowded, two lads fighting on the platform over queue jumping, conductor actually screaming and swearing into my face when I said there's no way I'm not getting on this.

That's on the back of delays, cancellations and fuck ups last Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week alone.

Feels like even in just the last 3 months or so the transport system is just crumbling away before our very eyes. Even when not on strike you can't expect a decent service.

And yet, had a brilliant day so it feels 10 times less shit!

He’d need to be more consistent to even be considered for captain and Santos done nothing wrong to warrant a change.

This thread has been a superb read, especially around the going 2-0 down mark.

Cheers @paulhanley, we were trying to remember last time we were 2-0 down away and came back to win when fans were in the ground. Nearest we got to finding the answer was 3-1 down at Blackburn before coming back to win.

Hope Casino’s earache isn’t too bad today. Scared him off at ht

A great day out but quite long.

9am train from Macclesfield then a lengthy wait at Stockport before getting the Preston train. Bolton fans joining the train from Manchester onwards and it got louder and louder.

A quick can of something alcoholic at Preston station then the train to Accy. Someone was having a bit of fun opening the toilet door from the outside when someone went in for piss. Fortunately it didn’t open on someone have a number 2.

Taxi from the station to The Crown which was full of Whites and a few off here. More beers while watching Liverpool lose at Forest before our match.

First half we weren’t really in the game and they certainly looked up for it more than us. As others have said a change in formation made the difference and we went home happy.

Very quick walk fortunately downhill to catch the 17.25 to Victoria before a tram to Piccadilly and train back to Macc.

Over 11 hours out of the house for 97 minutes of football 50 miles away. Would I do it again? Of course I bloody would.

So Blackburn was the last?
