1923 Shirt

It seems that 'Service My Horse & Cart'* have agreed to back out for this one.

Having the old badge, avec Hephalump, is neat & whilst having no issue with the BWFC badge of the last 50 years, I'd love to see the old one return.

Oh, and "There are 1,923 shirts available ranging in sizes S to 6XL". SIX XL. Jeez.

Looked decent in the club shop tonight. Got some good stuff in there at moment

They really have. Some of the 'normal' stuff with just the little badge on looks class. The jacket Evatt was wearing other week was a belter.

If they could have just got a proper contract with Umbro to recreate those old kits like a few other clubs have done rather than those mock ones they've got. We'd have cleared thousands of them

Easy.

Umbro would have snatched our hands off, it's easy money all round.

we should do one with that italic wordmark from that granada quiz show that "we" never used, before the blue football logo we've had ever since. very illegibly blackletter fraktur font-like but rounded in places. iirc. i wish i could find it. looked like a post office barcode

style the kit like a early 80s space movie spacesuit.

retrofuturism.

and play with a photo printed metalic effect football with rivets.

lol

I recently bought a 77/78 shirt from these guys https://www.1874retro.co.uk

I know it’s only a replica but was actually quite impressed with the quality.

mustve been only me that saw it.

were on 'on the ball' or another granadaland quiz or summat, early 80s, pretty sure peter reid played for bolton in the episode i saw on youtube.

the wordmark looked like this, like a stencil or fraktur style font .

" |ııı "

which just looks like four lines at first glance, but is stylized to use the 'stem' from the b as part of the w .

as i said it looks like an 'IMb' postal barcode , but i thought it looked retrofuture and cool.

only place i ever saw it in use. maybe 'we' were gonna use it , but didnt in the end.

if i find it ill post it up.

like summat set in the future using modern day items.

why did star wars use vector graphics from a 1980s arcade game to show the demo on how to blow up the death star, when they have flying spaceships with manufactured gravity ?

the princess leia hologram message is stored on an floppy disk, iirc.

theres loadsa examples.

The Jetsons is probably a good one.

Metropolis (the fritz lang film from 1927) is probably full of it.

a lot of it looks acronistic , but i didnt mean it like that, i meant it like how art deco or whatever looks good.

the old braun appliances (shavers, radios, etc) have good style.

if i could find it...
