We actually started off quite well yesterday, but then became a bit bland and stifled until the subs.

Aye, I know we didn't have a shot on target till late on but we started brightly and came close a few times

Just watched the highlights.  Didn't realise at the time just what a great header it was, by Sadlier I think, from the corner at the end which forced the 'keeper to push the ball back out.

Innit amazing how, when the corner beats the first man , you can end up scoring a goal.

Wasn't it Iredale, number 14, who headed it

Sheehan turned that game and think Morley responded when he came on as well.

great technique for bakas goal.

thought we had started really well first ten to fifteen, but like usual if we haven’t scored, we then start to change the way we play.

they tried every trick in the boom and why wouldn’t you if not getting pulled up ?  At one point they had 2 players down, regained possession and they both jumped up !

First game at the Unibol for a while last night. Ventured to the Platinum Suite with a couple of Wways posters past and present. Really enjoyable evening overall and sat a row in front for Sharon. Not sure she was too impressed for 80 mins.

Sheehan came in after the game to say a few words - said he’s fit and would love to be starting at the weekend. Spoke to JDB after the game. Really nice bloke and down to earth. He’s loving being at Bolton and hoping to get more minutes (but appreciates everyone playing attacking roles are in the same boat).

Roll on Saturday. 3 more points please, but less stress on the ticker.

Ps, anyone else bricking it when Traff went down and was looking very nervously over at the bench whilst getting treatment…?

Yes, though he had done his cruciate or something and was dreading the rest of the season with Dixon.

Seemed fine sprinting in to celebrate the winner though!!

The full match is available to watch on the BWFC site now - with Burton's commentators. Well worth watching the end of the game just to hear them moaning. 😁

Magnificent.

The goal went in on 7.07 of added time. The way it'd been reported it was a minute later.

There was at least a bit over the (minimum of) 7 minutes given as at one point 3 Burton players were pretending to need treatment. Plus time wasting at goal kicks and free kicks.

My goodness those two wankers commentating were holdinv on to the "why seven minutes ?" mantra, and pleading with the players to hold on.

Agree with this too.

I think it was @paulhanley who used the phrase “taking the hand-brake off”  earlier which I agreed with yesterday.

We actually started off quite well yesterday, but then became a bit bland and stifled until the subs.

I think Evatt is learning and evolving and of course this is all easier said than done.

Pretty sure that if you exclude penalties we've not scored in the first half of a league game since Charlton back in September. What's that? Seven or eight games ago?

Superb that last 15 minutes, reminded me of those Bradford commentators when we came back from 2-0 to 2-2 on Parkinson's return to Valley Parade.

Ill give you facts

A goal in minute 1 counts 1, as does one in minute 98

Penalties carry equal value to 40 yard headers direct from a corner

I thought it'd only been reported as 98th minute?

Yep & I get that it was "during the 98th minutes", but to read & hear the reaction it was as if the 7th added minute was stretched out ... almost like "next goal wins" on the backfield. It was, in fact, an entirely justifiable, whole 7 seconds over the allotted added time. Plus ref's tend to blow at a 'nothing going on' moment.

The whining about 7 minutes is also bllx. Reports show the ball was actually in play for 49 minutes of the 90, +3, +7. Burton came with a plan to waste time & delay everything. The ref. simply added time to reflect that. If he'd booked the keeper for it quite early on it would have stopped.

It's their prerogative but don't complain if it bites you in the bum.

I’ve not done a fact check on this. But if true it adds more evidence to the importance of the first goal.

And if the first goal comes in the first half, as @Tonge moor green jacket said, it would hopefully make things less tense and may be the platform for  a more convincing victory!

That said, I agree with @Casinos point. As long as we are winning, it doesn’t matter when we score goals and how we get the 3 points!

These last 2 games have demonstrated massive positives in winning games and scoring goals in a different way. Great sign for a team that’s got its sights on promotion.
