tomski
I’m in the any win camp. Winning when not playing well tends to lead to glory come May. A performance would be nice but 3 points is the aim of the game. 30 points from 16 starts to look relatively positive if all goes well. Unfortunately, we've not come close to that performance since. I looked at the line up for that game, and it hasn't changed much. Just Bradley for Fossey and Tomo for one of Williams or Morley most weeks, and Iredale for John. Sadlier, Baka and JDB all came on in the 72nd minute, virtually repeated v Burton within a couple of minutes.

Unless you just mean in the last half hour of games, I'm struggling to follow that! Plymouth and Ipswich to name two. But I agree the standard is poor generally, most teams are organised and physical but toothless and lacking pace.
radcliffe white
Better standard last season by a long way

No one wins the prem, nor any league for that matter, by consistently being negative.

To be fair to the Burton manager, he took over a car crash of a team conceding goals for fun, and he's made them hard to beat and results have improved hugely. Its only what Allardyce, Dyche, Warnock or Pulis would do in the same circumstance and as much as I don't want to watch that style of play ever again, I respect managers who can execute a game plan and have all the team knowing what their roles are. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 29, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted October 29, 2022 I was more referring to ourselves- of course in their position tightening up at the back is important, but like any team eventually, if they want to continue to progress the gloves will need to come off a bit. I'll remove my original reply as a Wways argument is probably not what you need today. hope your ma is okay and that we can get a comfortable 3 points in your absence. Eddie
IFollow again for me today (apologies for the mid game rants in advance - it’s my only outlet to vent frustrations, the baby doesn’t want to hear it). I’ve no idea how we’ll set up or who with, I’d love to see Sheehan play based on his cameo on Tuesday, although it might be too early. I just hope we go at them from the start and play our game, rather than let them disrupt like Accy/Burton did. A goal in the first half an hour would be nice and I think would see us pretty much confirm 3 points based on the stats kicking around on twitter with results when we score first. 3-0. Lee, Bradley, Baka

It’s not me, but I had almost the exact same issue apart from the fact she was lay on me at the time. I managed to stifle it when we equalised (helped by the fact I wasn’t over-excited with a draw at home to Burton) but couldn’t help myself with the winner - fair to say she woke up. I had the same with Accy too!
