Shrewsbury Town Away

Absolutely not a foul, but all Trafford had to do was raise his arms and it would have been given.

How the fuck we can’t defend a lead like that but I suppose we aren’t used to being in that position

On the bright side, turns out we’ve stumbled on an absolute fluke of a tap house behind the Esso near the ground

No where near a foul on Trafford. He didn’t even attempt to jump. Jones that concerned about giving away a corner be allows a cross which leads to a goal. School boy error defending regularly is why we’ll continue to kick around in this league for the next few years

your Plymouth’s, sheff weds and Ipswich’s do not lose that game

Hard to take. With eight players out we were always going to become vulnerable late in the game given the lack of options on the bench.

The only way of coping with a kick in the bollocks like that is to focus on the wider picture. Two years ago we were struggling in the bottom half of League Two. Last year the wheels were coming off in the bottom half of League One. Now we're going through an indifferent run while in play off contention in League One. It's undeniably all progress but not linear progress and shit days happen.

I don't think any of us could honestly say there's much Championship quality in our squad. We've strides to make and it'll be an exciting journey as we move through making them. It'd be easier without the queue of other big clubs in League 1 but that's the hand we're dealt for now.

There's no option but to stick with it and roll with the punches.

There’s no point having a b team if we aren’t going to have them on the bench and involved at some stage.

If we are obsessed with signing players as soon we have a few injuries then sack the b team off then

B team players on the bench

Great post - we are miles away but in a better position than we have been regardless of how shit it’s been since Cheltenham.

definitely need to strengthen but can’t see us doing much this season. We need to accept reality

Great post.

Bad news - the result.

Good news - just made the first train out to Manchester and turning attentions to England

Nobody can argue with a word of that.

Regarding the "progress" I think the frustration is that if we looked at it in half years rather than full years, there's an argument to say we're currently going backwards.  We got to a level from mid Jan to 1st Oct, about 2 thirds of a season effectively, that we were happy with and it looked like we'd possibly cracked it.  We are a long way from that 10 or so weeks later.  Now we expect to concede the first goal, and we don't expect to score more than maybe 1 goal from open play.  Arguably we look more defensively suspect although the stats might not back that up, and have gone from 3 or 4 regular scorers to none.  And as far from having a settled XI as any of us can remember, partly through injuries.  Grateful for where we are, but it feels like we should have a lot more points with this squad.

No keeper should ever get out jumped by an outfield player

In this instance, the player has the space to run up and jump.

As its coming pretty much straight down onto the keeper, Traf doesn't have the opportunity to do similar.

He should have done better though, only has to punch it away.

Kieran Lee looked good today. Iredale too slow. Odd subs taking Charles and dapo off. Trafford didn't jump for their winner.

We are bang average atm  need to sign a goalscorer in Jan.

Agree with all that but we need to look at what we are creating for the front players which is zero . Bradley isn’t getting past players  and getting crosses in any more if we are looking at playing wing backs same with iredale  on the other side . John is more suited to that style but never plays.

Sadler can deliver a ball better than anyone but we never really see him and probably needs to be played in a different formation same with dapo needs to be out wide drifting in
