Site Supporter Spider Posted November 1, 2022 Site Supporter Posted November 1, 2022 I see Musk is shaking things up. You can have a blue tick for $8 a month (or £8 in English money). Cant decide if he’s just bored, taking the piss or trying to destroy it. But the blue tick is a weird one. He’s trying to stop folk impersonating the famous, whilst simultaneously allowing everyone to do just that. it’ll be funny watching it all unfold. Quote

That said, I’m sure he’ll want to see a return on his outlay. Quote
L/H White Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 He's inviting the likes of Trump, Robinson & Hopkins back and a host of other people I've never heard of Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 1, 2022 Site Supporter Posted November 1, 2022 It's a cess pit anyway. A few more returning nob-heads won't change that for the better or worse. Occasionally some reasonable things appear, but even then they're automatically attacked by other nob-heads. Quote
Site Supporter Cheese Posted November 1, 2022 Site Supporter Posted November 1, 2022 It's not even a blue tick. It's a white tick. Quote
Ani Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Musk is a really weird bloke. If it turned out he was any type of sex pest involving humans animals and or robots I would not be surprised. I would be more surprised if he was nt. Quote

stevieb Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 He's trying to make it impossible for people to be taken seriously without a tick. So subscribe and give us your personal details for verification so you aren't anonymous. But it costs you 8 dollars. So bots don't bother. But also most other normal folk don't bother either. And I'd hazard a guess most bots he's arsed about don't actually have a tick right now either. Oh and twitter is still full of twats. Quote

royal white Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 All the conspiracy cranks were buzzing when he bought it, “bring back free speech” etc. they soon changed their tune when announced the blue tick fee Quote
Site Supporter Spider Posted November 2, 2022 Author Site Supporter Posted November 2, 2022 I reckon you’ll end up having to pay a small subscription for access to all blue mark accounts. Probably only a couple of quid a year but that’s likely to generate tens of millions. People are saying he’s thick for paying £44billion, I’m not so sure. Could be the bargain of all time in a decade or so. Quote

I thought loons like Trump had already set up their own similar platforms anyway?!?! Quote

He'll make money - I've heard or seen a few folk who seem to reckon that it's the perfect platform for pumping and dumping Cryptos, that we all know he's heavily into. If that was the case, then his $44B, could be recouped very, very quickly Quote

It just means those that want to put their shite out there have to pay a fee to have a tick next to their name. Don't pay it, don't have the tick. It isn't stopping anyone posting. That said, if this does stop high profile folk from using Twitter then it's an own goal for Musk. Quote
mickbrown Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 (edited) It's quite funny seeing folk moaning about having to pay for the tick. Talking about how much 'work' is was to get one Edited November 2, 2022 by mickbrown Quote

But he’s changing things. And Twitter is still the biggest thing on the internet. Quote

You can avoid the slimier parts and as an idea it’s an unparalleled invention. Im not sure why everyone is so upset with Musk. It’s his, he paid 44 fckin billion notes for it, he’s allowed to roll it into a ball and shove it up his arse if he so desires. Edited November 5, 2022 by Spider Quote
