Marc505 Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Heard about that on the way home last night, arena was evacuated and a screen went up on the ice what a terrible thing to happen and to witness. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 There’s a video going round of that one. No thanks. Counselling is being offered to all those in attendance. Bet it was horrific. Quote

I’ll take the word of my family members who watch ice hockey virtually every day of the week and they say it was a billion to one sporting incident. Quote

There's only him who knows if he meant to swing a kick towards him though. Truly horrific. Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 29, 2023 Site Supporter Posted October 29, 2023 Just seen it. Looks bad, but I'll take it as a player perhaps just trying to change direction/position quickly. Only the chap involved knows whether it was deliberate. He's going to feel pretty bad at the moment, so perhaps it would be remiss to pile on accusations too. Quote

gonzo Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Proper gutted about Mathew Perry. Grew up watching Friends. He was one funny man. Always the same these class clowns trying to be funny all the time.... Quote
L/H White Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 that hockey incident, watched it, watched it again, looks very much intentional to me apparently the lad who did it has a history of being a twat grim how he gets up and skates off just awful Quote

Never mind My nephew is representing England in Canada early next year at the junior world champs. So by default I hear a lot about ice hockey. Had to sit and watch Telford tigers several times (still bores me to tears) But the general consensus from folk who live and breathe the game is that it’s a being struck by lightning thing. We’ll see. It’s still a fucking horrid waste of life. Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 30, 2023 Site Supporter Posted October 30, 2023 (edited) A fairly in-depth report, and not a hint of a deliberate act. I'm sure that the relevant authorities will scrutinise the events and take any action if necessary. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-67261168.amp Just as it says here. gonzo Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Here's the vid for anyone not seen it. For the untrained eye it looks to me like he deffo flicks his legs out. Must be a common thing if all involved say its not in any way deliberate. Quote

It's very hard to understand any reason why his feet have gone so high. Obviously he's not trying to slit the bloke's throat, but it certainly appears to be a tad reckless. Quote
Blondi Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 That ice hockey challenge is shocking, I was expecting maybe an innocent clash or a freak accident, it looks more like a karate kick to the guys neck. Quote
Site Supporter Spider Posted October 30, 2023 Site Supporter Posted October 30, 2023 Even expert ice skaters (I’m told) have very little control once they’re knocked off balance at 20mph Quote
