Chris O Grady frozen out at Oldham - wouldn't have been surprised to see PP make a move for him would be even less surprised if KH did.

Was thinking this last night... released by Oldham I think.

anyone else heard the Gary Hooper rumour?

I'm sure his wages would be to much for us

Imagine so,  if he’s desperate.. one year deal would be a cracking signing... record at this level is great

True but a lot of clubs spunk their money away, but have to admire them for spotting Vardy (£1.7million including add-ons) and Mahrez (500k euros) in particular

Their accountant must have creamed himself when they turned Mahrez' 500k euros into £60 million.

Add Kante to that too... don’t disagree btw but the cash lets you have a bit of freedom for the odd failure if they’d not worked out... see Walsh at Everton

Absolutely - their recruitment was phenomenal and Ranieri won the title with a team largely recruited by SW and built by NP - although we don't know to what extent the manager was involved in the recruitment process. I imagine a lot with it being Pearson.

They did also have quite a bit of Thai cash behind them too

  5. Going to my first ever non-league game today... incidentally going to be the boys first game, testing the water to see if he can be kept entertained by 90 mins of football before I get him to the wanderers... St Neots Town v North Leigh... up the Saints

  6. The £525k was paid as consultancy fees, per the financial statements we all love... made him 15th best paid executive in football... outrageous for a league one club, more than 8 premier league CEO’s... let’s see what the next 2 years consultancy was... I imagine it would be significantly more than that the year of the Madine sale.

  7. Nobby for me... no brainer.

Would get it if Hill or Pearson get it given the experience, but Nobby has a 43% win record. Sacked prematurely at both clubs, who incidentally he had in or around the play offs, but then ended up being relegated from the league the season after he left.... some record that.

Holden call is bonkers. Cannot believe people at saying get an assistant manager in with no experience over him to be honest...

Think it would be a bit of a PR coup as well for FV if they got Nobby in, especially if they could get him in with an experienced assistant, say Hill.

Surely you can serve notice to terminate without having to sack him?

I.e Have him work the 52 weeks

Exactly and I doubt it would be 12 months... chances are that window went pre admin and he has 12 months.

I’d imagine that it would be 3 or 6 months notice to work out the remaining time on the contract.

There is no 'point in time'.

What you're describing is just a 12 month contract. Why are you struggling with then term 'rolling'?

    No I’m not.

I am saying is that the 12 months automatically ‘rolls’ into another 12 months at a given point in time, and that’s not a daily occurrence.

There maybe clauses that say if you sack the individual they are entitled to 12 months pay, but you will also be able to get out for free... with enough time.... for both parties.

He woke up today and is contracted for 365 days. He wakes up tomorrow and still has a contract for 365 days. So on and so forth

not sure what’s difficult to understand

Because that’s not how a 12 month rolling employment contract works... you are employed 1 July  17 to 30 June 18 (for example), then at a point in time another 12 months is triggered to cover 1 July 18 to 30 June 19... when’s that point in time?  Key for bin or not bin decisions and £’s compensation....

From what has been described it is simply a permanent contract with a 12 months notice period. It will haves been cheaper than giving him a 3 or 4 year deal since you could end up having to pay 2/3 years of that.

    A lifetime contract...

Longer than anything given in English football before...

    For Parkinson....

    by KA....

no media coverage over such a historical contract...

A lovely definition of a mobile phone or utilities contract not a 12 month rolling employment contract... which will run for 12 months annually from a given date, probably 1st July to 30th June, not daily, there will be a point in time to give notice from either side so that it ends with no financial impact... unless KA is more inept than we think, or at least I think

@DLH of course he is still under contract to BWFC.  He could terminate it for non payment of wages but as it stands he still is an employee of the club.

    But is he?

12 month rolling contract isn’t it?

You’d still need to trigger the extension wouldn’t you?

    have we done that?
