  1. I'll explain for you.

This is the released list, players out of contract that have not been offered a new contract, or not accepted an offer for a new contract.

You can't shift the raft of shit if they're still in contract.

Expect more to leave if acceptable offers are made, or loaned out at the start of the season.

    I'll explain (it) for you.

There won't be any raft of shite.

The players who are still here will be the basis of the squad that we'll have next season.

Which is what some of us have been saying since the back end of last season.

    Perhaps you're 'hard of reading'.

  2. What happened to the 'raft of shite' that we were preparing to ditch? I thought someone on here said that the manager and coaching staff were in full agreement with them?

  3. Been decided its a 0-0 draw by football league

    http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2015/football-league-statement-blackpool-v-huddersfield-2456549.aspx

"The Board took the view that the 0-0 scoreline that stood at the time of the game's abandonment (in the 48th minute) should be officially recorded as the final result of the match, as it believes that league points should always be earned on the field of play."

That makes no sense because neither team earned a point as they only played half a game.

  4. 'Prometheus'. I can only assume that Ridley Scott had some sort of massive brain fart and then made a film of it. How it didn't win the Oscar for best comedy is beyond me. Especially the bit were The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo gives herself a C-Section and then fights off the baby octopus that emerges, before necking a couple of Asprin and running around like nothing has happened.

  5. If anything it's worse now

No it isn't. We didn't have a pot to piss in back then and there was no prospect of ever having one either. No one in their right mind would have invested a penny into the club. Selling half the Embankment End and launching Burnden Lifeline effectively saved the club.

  6. Today's situation has stark similarities to 82

It's nothing like it was back then. We owed money to the banks rather than a benefactor and they weren't interested in bailing us out. Not to mention that crowds were about half what they are now and there was no real TV income. We also had a stadium that was barely fit for purpose and no training facilities to speak of.

  7. I liked the anecdote about the not very commercially minded, commercial manager.

Peter Reid was still playing for us when he took over, before we gave him away to Everton for £60K. I'd be interested to see what the team line-up was for his first match in charge away at Burnley and what we were left with by the final game of that season.
