  1. Elmander was only on for about 10 minutes and in that time, hardly got any service apart from a couple of mis-hit long balls. To say he was 'just not good enough' is a ridiculous thing to say.

The first time he got the ball in Coyle's reign he was on the edge of the Arsenal box with a bit of time and tried a fancy flick that went straight to the opposition. He couldn't get rid of the ball quick enough and had no appreciation of what was going on around him.

But he's got no confidence.....that is because he knows he is a poor player playing at a level that is above his limited ability.

  2. Im sure OC will turn the team around and get us back up the league howevet all this being nice, meeting the fans, saying the right things etc will count for nothing if he fails to get the team bit right.

How long will it be before the boo's start if this happens?

Having said that I can't wait for Sundays match

I think that most Bolton fans are so happy that Megson has been sacked that Coylie will get a long honeymoon period. He won't get much criticism, if any this season even if Bolton are relegated imo.

As I have stated before I would rather start 2010/11 in the Championship with Coylie than in the Premier League with Megson.

Whether the club is ?50 million or ?70 million in debt isn't my problem, I would rather look forward to going watching Bolton play a bit of football then suffer what Megson had them playing most of the time.

  3. For a season in the late 80's they published the away following figures in the programme, the lowest I remember was Torquay with 97.

George could verify this but I understand he may be busy on a Friday lunchtime.

Didn't buy them in 91/92 then?

Swansea had 47 supporters in the away end at Bolton in 91/92.

Torquay brought 64 with them that season.

  4. Fair play to the Cockney,he just sent me a full refund inc paypal fees with this message.

"I was told that I would be receiving the programmes yesterday, then yesterday I was told Monday so I am issuing a refund as I don't want to mess you about. If they do finally arrive at any point I will let you know and you are welcome to re-purchase. "

    We'll see what happens..

  5. Can't see our playing style changing for most of this season - be suicidal to suddenly go all 'tappy tappy passy' with the players we have.

Hopefully if we are beating a poor side like Hull at home we will try to stay on the front foot rather than take off a goal scorer for McCann and hand them the initiative.

  6. Debut against Blackburn Rovers. Seamus was the Lincoln goalkeeper when they had the fire at Bradford City.

Felgate and Redfearn both played for Lincoln on Bradford fire day. That's a programme I would like to have a copy of but even in this recession it's going for ?45 -50 .

I read somewhere that Jim Mcdonagh had a loan spell at Man Utd but he didn't play for the first team.

  7. Have you got BOTH programmes?

I picked up the match issue yesterday. The first programme is ?2 for 52 pages and the second one ?1 for 32 pages with a non glossy cover.

It's quite funny to see how all mention of Gary Megson has been removed from the article on Chris Sutton in the second issue.

Will you let us know if you get anything from the postponed games at Sunderland and Arsenal...the Wigan postponed issue is easy to get.

I paid a Cockney a fiver on Wednesday for the Arsenal one but he is trying to back out of the deal claiming nothing was issued, that can't be right with such a late postponement. He wants to keep my cash and send out the one from the rearranged match....if i wanted that programme I could get one for 3 pounds from the shop at Horwich at the time.Paypal dispute going in he doesn't deliver.

Nothing for Sunderland or Arsenal has been on ebay.

  8. I rang Sunderland up this afternoon and spoke to the programme subscriptions office who said that no programmes will be on sale for this postponed match and wouldn't sell one despite being asked to name their price.

The person said the print run had been cancelled.Whether that is the truth or a lie will no doubt be discovered in the fullness of time.

  9. Some postmen in Bolton are working but mine hasn't done our street since Monday.

Not expecting anything particularly exciting, just a 1965 Manchester Senior Cup final programme between Oldham and Bury which cost 99 pence.

  10. Apparently Gartside called his friend Flood asking to speak to Coyle

Flood said yes (Kilby was on holiday)

Bolton spoke to Coyle and he agreed

Kilby was furious with Flood no compensation had been set

The 3million clause in his contract relates to an approach from a top 6 club which obviously we are not

We are only prepared to pay 1million

Burnley are refusing to accept this hence the limbo

Burnley know if it goes to court they will lose however they all so know we need to appoint sooner rather than later.

Make of it what you will.

Personally i think Burnley have handled this very naively.

Sit tight and we will get our man.

All the information released has come from Burnley.

Gartside has played this well, not only is he going to get us our dream man but he is also going to get him at a great price.

I'd have settled for Coyle and would prefer to start 10/11 in the Championship with OC than in the Premier League with the misery guts just sacked but he isn't the dream candidate in my view.Of the realistic candidates that is Mark Hughes.
