When adding a picture attachment to a post how do get the pic to remain the same size as opposed to it being compressed to a small pic which you then have to click on to enlarge?

If it's larger than the permitted size it will be reduced, regardless of where it's from.

If its imageshack; when you upload the picture and a small picture comes up, click on that and that will enlarge it. use that link to post between the IMG tags.

 

It will decrease in size, only by about 20% though, depends on the size of the picture.
