anyone know any, they played there couple of years ago so may have some tips on where to stay etc

Maybe shit hole was a bit harsh but it certainly isn't the best of places. On the day of the match the place to be will be at the harbour (where it all kicked off in the world cup). It did a bit when i was their, don't know who it was between, could very well have been Marseille fans fighting with each other cos they were doing that after the match.

 

Stadium looks the business, away end very basic, not even any seats (although thats a bonus!). Their fans are pretty good, set of fans behind a goal will start singing then the other lot will sing back to them.

 

Police were heavy handed when i was their and after one look at them you probably wouldn't mess with them, def not to be advised. We had to go to a warehouse before the match to be searched.

 

I reckon we have a good chance of winning, Newcastle lost cos they played shit in Marseille, but the only real difference on the night was Drogba who was playing for them then.

 

Also expensive, we were paying 5 euros a pint, nowt like Portugal!
