Windows Installer Service

Featured Replies

The Windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.

I've looked on google and tried a few different things but with no luck.

Any ideas anyone?

Try this: (assuming that you run XP)

Click start, then run, then type 'services.msc' in the text box and press enter, look for 'windows installer' in the list that comes up and make sure it isn't disabled (you can right click on them), if it doesn't say started then try starting it.

Try again to install whatever it was.

Try the services thing above, if that fails go to the microsoft site and download the latest windows installer (3.1 i think) and install it, you could have a corrupt installer.
