Team For Saturday

Jussi

Hunt, Faye, Meite, Samuel

Nolan, Speed, McCann, Vaz Te

Davies, Anelka

Any keeper

Michalik

Campo

Diouf

Harsanyi

This is what I reckon now pre season is over

I reckon Guthrie, Sinclair, Cid and Alonso will all come into the squad after first 6 games or so

I also reckon Diouf is carrying a bit of extra weight and not 100% otherwise he would definitely be in

Helguson seems to have done his groin and Teymourians prob not due back yet

Not sure if Nolans up to right midfield (pace/stamina) but seen Sammy try him there a couple of times now and he prob thinks like me and thats we need two centre midfielders who can tackle and get from box to box for 90 mins and Nolan cant. Prior to last 2 games I wouldnt have had speed starting but his experience and goals!! are obviously in LSL's mind. Cant see him managing 90 mins but thats where Campo comes into the fold

Anyone agree? So hope the atmosphere is electric next week and BFS will be thinkin feckin ell they werent like this for me.

I have a sneaking feeling CID will partner Meite and maybe McGann will miss out for Faye or Campo

Could well be muzzle.

Only seen cid once and based on that he didnt look up to marking any of newcastles attackers. Maybe in a few months or against the lower teams. I definitely prefer to see Faye in midfield though and am a massive campo fan. Its great all this competition.

Your reputation is on the line after leaving me and Gumbo to carry on the boozing in that pub in Wigan, where we very, very nearly got the sh?te kicked out of us

"With Ricardo Gardner already missing the start of the season with a damaged hamstring and Joey O'Brien suffering a slight setback in his bid to put last season's injury nightmare behind him, the Whites have new concerns over Nicky Hunt - one of four half-time substitutions - who suffered a recurrence of a toe injury, which could put him out of the Newcastle game."

So let me get this straight ..... we may be kicking off the season with no right-back and one fit left-back ? Apart from 2 Academy players who've not played a single Premiership game yet ?

Am I the only one that would sacrifice a striker and 3 midfielders for a couple more experienced defenders ?

What's so wrong with having good experienced depth in the defensive positions ?
