And the quarter-final was a spine-tingling odd goal triumph against a West Midlands team (Wolves).

And the other win before the semi-final was away to a Lancashire team (Preston NE).

 

After ManU had beaten Arsenal, all the remaining 5 teams were significant in our history.

And the other semi final in 1926 was between Bolton and Swansea, a team beginning with S. And the semi final was played in North London at White Hart Lane.
