The kitchen needs redoing because it needs a new floor (a pipe burst 3 years ago and the kitchen flooded, because it chipboard laid over joists it just soaked the water up and we've been saying for years can e get this looked at)

He doesn't want any tenet in whilst that happens. We believe it's an excuse to get us out and either sell or raise the rent.

The issue is the 2 months, we were on a year long contract before covid and have been asking for 2 years to be put back on but deafening silence.

We need more time to sort out what we're doing and where we need to go. We have been talking for a while about going to Folkestone as we're not in London everyday but that's not a quick decision and over nearly a decade in this area we've built up a life as well.

If he's acting the c*nt about it you could always do the same? He's only getting you out in 2 months if you let him! At the very least you'd hope you could negotiate longer notice in return for paying the rent, looking after it and going quietly when you're both ready.

Really nice guy, has a Dream Doors franchise in Thornton.

I met him in the Tavern just after he'd signed for us. He looked massive! Hard as nails on the pitch.

Not Reebok but Burnden. JB, Big Sam, Peter Thompson and Malcolm McDonald. Feel free to add others.
Blatant and unashamed nostalgia from 1976. A little bit older than the Reebok nostalgia.😊

I know somebody who has gone to that event in London today, he's actually taken 2 days off work for it - when I asked why they were going, I was told to show that he's proud to be English, and we won't take anymore shit (whatever that means) - he is a Chelsea fan though, and believes everything he sees on GB News, so he is a bit of a dick

Oh Jesus. They walk amongst us. I received a video via a group watsapp earlier of Churchill, lions, spitfires, poppies and bulldogs. This was from a grown adult. If I had the technical expertise I'd have sent one back of queues, carry on films, pork pies and gravy.

  5. December in that first season.

4-0 v Rochdale in the cup. McAteer debut goal

4-0 v Burnley. They missed a pen? Played them off the park and Walker & Brown linked up for a great final goal.

5-0 v Bradford. Sent the delusional tw*ts back over the pennines with their arses handed to em. David Lee dragging ex rag Mike Duxbury over by the neck.

Agree with that.  I remember her with her husband in the 80s (who died a long time back) and I've always been in awe of her stoicism and support despite failing health.  Last away game I saw her at (not that I go to many) was WBA when we won in last minute, also she was selling programmes upto a few years ago, and I saw her at Athy Colls 2 or 3 years ago.  Totally deserves recognition, up there with Dave Higson as best fans that I'm aware of in my lifetime (there will be loads I'm not aware of).

I think that was the last season I saw her, Fulham away, and it was clear her health wasn't good.

I remember her being presented with an award on the pitch at Burnden in the early, mid 1980s, after she'd seen Wanderers in over 1000 consecutive games including pre season friendlies. God knows how many matches she's racked up in total.

    Lifetime award to Ruth too.

A remarkable woman.  I was chuffed to see the club acknowledge her incredible efforts.

  8. Wasn't it Pikeys that set themselves up in Theaxtons a few years back? I'm sure they got a few grand from the owners to go quietly because it was the cheaper option.

Good luck to anyone and their mates trying to get physical with a crowd of travellers.

Just got back and my god that was dire.Iredale's worst performance in a white shirt, Forrester very poor,Cogley safe option nearly every time, Dempsey shite, Magoma the one bright light in a pathetic performance

Ref was a cunt again no clapping down on the blatant time wasting

From feeling confident after Saturday that performance has ripped all that away.Fucking gutless

Can't disagree with any of this.

Even the ballboys were feckin shite this evening.

  10. Someone said earlier (desperado?) about some of our imbeciles on social media. Fantastic to have 2 of our players in there and the first comment I saw on X from a Wanderers fan was slagging JDC off. Dick.

  11. Belting day yesterday. Great performance and atmosphere. One of those days that make all the midweek slogs in shite weather absolutely worth it.

It's a shame we've fallen short. Pompey are a great yardstick for where we should be and what we should be aiming for ie getting a point when you've been under the cosh.

I'm fairly certain we have to do it the hard way now. No one to fear, just our inability to win away games v the top sides but then a draw in the 1st leg will do, if we play as well at home as we did yesterday.

    KTF

  12. Can't be too disheartened at that. We played well but there's just something minor missing that prevents us from being a top 2 side. Let's get this done via the play offs.  We're Bolton. Nothing rarely comes easy.

Simply a game we now HAVE to win. No ifs or buts. Posh are well in this race too so Saturday is absolutely humongous

it’s now or never for this group and the gaffer to show they have the minerals.

    This.

  14. A few years ago, in between jobs, I worked as a call handler for GMP. Dreadful organisation to work for but the calls could be quite lively and interesting.

Of all the calls I took, pretty much every offence had been committed but the most hysterical, upset caller I ever had, was a lass who rang 999 because she'd been excluded from a watsapp group.
