  1. Petrov can't complain.

He started the season in ownership of the shirt and apart from the odd spark of magic here and there, he has been a disappointment

Matt Taylor has come back in and done the up-and-down job that is needed.

My contact predicts that the frustrated Petrov is ready to throw the toys big style if his transfer request is refused.

EDIT: Happy - very reliable source, no bullsh*t here. Zico - I am told that is when Gartside and Petrov's agent are available for a meeting

  2. You cant help but feel that has Klasnic been on for the last 15 we'd have won that. Anyone know whats wrong with him?

When discussed in the players lounge last night with a senior pro, his reaction to us asking about Klasnic's injury raised plenty of doubt for Klasnic's hunger for playing on cold wet January nights.

  3. Hello all, thought i would dip the toe back in!!

me and Desperado bumped into McCann last night and we commented on how well he was looking - well he had a hat on so that did make him look about 10 years younger! He's still trying to recover from the injury but the way he was talking, I don't think he's too hopeful about playing again at this level.

  4. Get used to it, we'll be having a new home shirt each and every year from now on.

and because the away shirt will always be in the identical style just with different colours - that has to be changed too!

  5. It would be a difficult one to judge really, in a way you could almost give to Coyle for the way he is getting more out of all the players who would feature in my top 4.

Elmander - (YES I really am including him), is working far harder since Coyle arrived and started to play 4-4-2

Knight - has been like a different player since Coyle came - I'm sure the extra responsibility with Cahill being out has helped too

Lee - since we went to 4-4-2 he is finding more room and more targets to cross to

Muamba - I've always liked the lad but many failed to see his strengths last season. He's come on superbly this season but under Coyle he has now added the ability to shoot on target and is starting to look dangerous attacking too now

Difficult to pick one out between Lee and Muamba. Lee has settled unbelievably quickly whilst Muamba just keeps gettting better and better. Can we have joint winners?!

As for next season, keep Wilshere for another season, work out the best centre-mid from Muamba, S Davis, M Davis and Holden - I think all we need is two proper full-backs (esp on the left side as I think Steinsson can just about do a job at right back) and the magical 15 goals a season striker to hang off K Davies up top.

We aren't too far short of being a good entertaining mid-table team - which lets be honest, is the best we can hope for.

  6.

IMO S.Davis is average and cost us against Liverpool,

How do you work that one out?

Lucas bloody cheated that second yellow card, no take that he cheated on both of Sean Davis's yellow cards.

The second one, it ws Lucas who slowed down and almost ran backwards into Davis.

Amazing what the passing of time does to the memory!

  7. How many new home shirts have we had now in the last few seasons?

Pretty sure its four in four. I know its 'cos they keep messing around with the sponsors, Reebok > RBK > Reebok > 188Bet, but pretty sure home shirts are supposed to be kept for two years. Any idea what their excuse is for changing it this time?

It'll be 5 in 5 when the 2010/11 season starts:

  8. I think the large part of the blame for the second goal falls at the refs feet, Elmander takes elbow to the head and a foul should have been awarded to Bolton instead ref brings play back as Elmander is treated for the cut to the head, Bolton then give ball back to united who launch it upfield and promptly score.

JLS is as much at fault for the second goal as anyone, what the fcuk he is doing just watching the ball rebound out from Jussi rather than making some attempt to close down the gypsy.

  9. Spot on Ani - apart from the Hull job, whilst only short term, so agrees with your theory, did carry a hefty bonus for keeping them in the Prem. No doubt this is what Megson had his eyes on.

The Peter Taylor salary at Bradford is more like the type of job that Megson needs to keep his eyes out for.

  10. I thought wilshere was our best player to be honest.

Yet again though the opposition are set on the way by a howler by one of the full backs. I'm tired of seeing it, week in week out it seems to happen. Priority for me in the summer is getting in two decent ones and shipping out the dross ones. 60 goals we've let in now, im not saying they;re all the full backs fault (maybe the wide mids dont protect enough, maybe the centre halfs at fault for a lot) but i think theyve had more bad games than good the lot of them. Id keep ricketts, purely because he can do a job across the whole of the backline, as a reserve though. Id want better quality in the starting 11 than what we've got though. The other three could all go if we can find replacements

    Quite right on both points.

Including Nicky Hunt and Gardner, we've got 6 players at the club who have been regular full backs in The Premiership for us - and there isn't a proper full-back between them!

  11. He's a miserable cunt.

Our Freeview + box at home is playing up, so we've been archiving some recordings onto DVD before reformating the harddrive. Last night I shifted the Munich away game, just watch Megson after the Gardner goal - not a flinch, not even a glimmer of a smile, no sign of celebration at all. FFS man - we've just taken the bloody lead against Munich in their own backyard!

  12. As Zico said.

From MOTD highlights, Fulham gave it a reet good go - I counted 3 off the line in the first half alone. It was actually one of their best away performances I could recall having seen.

I do agree though, that football managers can have very short memories - Hodgson would have been going mad 2 years seasons back if this had happened against them.

  13. Emailed the club about this and they don't do individual packages, they allocate the pitch with all the stuff they said for ?3500+ vat for up to 15 players per side. So you have to find two lots of teams. So if about 22 players all together no subs your looking at about ?170 inc vat

Unless someone who owns his / her own firm can stick through on expenses and reclaim the VAT
