am i the only one who thinks we have passed the ball nicely for once?this is a bonus game for us, gardener looks up for it,taylor doing alright and hopefully this will sharpen up ivan.we do look nervy at the back but this is a strong spurs line up .pavlychenco wragged the pie eaters back4 all over on sunday.this is 100% improvement on sunday.if we pass the ball like this against wolves and change obrien for ricketts/shittu we will win.
yes we have passed the ball ok but weve defenders who wouldnbt look out of place in league 2, the lot of them. if wolves attack us saturday they will score goals.

im very pessimitic for saturday even with this sorry bunch. im hoping mccarthy comes and plays for a point, if he does we may win. If they come looking for 3 from the off i fear for us with this lot at the back

Thought we created 3 or 4 good chances, but can't put the ball in the net. Spurs do sweet fa and score 2. Jussi was poor but to be fiar to him Defoe was completely unmarked in front of him. Holden's been involved and tidy, Taylor fair, Cohen invisible.

Two many shit players in our team, looked half decent in the build up but it would take us an age to score. Cant believe we have spent over ?20m on defenders and our back four is so shit. Need Cahill back asap, anyone have an idea how he is getting on?

Holden looks ok and klasnic looks more of a threat in 20 mins than the other two forwards have done in last 450m

dunno how many of them were in ligue b which i guess is of a lower standard than ligue a
Fair point, at a relegated side though which i think nantes were. At least you know he can do it from his record in france. Maybe his year in fracne was just after his transplants? Not fully fit etc? Elmander hasnt had a great scoring record be it in france, holland (wasnt he used in midfield there) denmark and now here.

weve been here before but goalscorers do not just drop off trees. so club like ours has to gamble.
it seems klasnic could be the gamble that worked. (not that megson would ever get any credit for that)
I'll give megson credit fot that one, a good signing. Decent record in Germany, 1 in 3. This is acceptable as its a much higher standard league than France, IMO.
True they dont drop off trees, and when you havent got much to spend its particularly difficult to find someone. When you've 8m -10m to spend though (ive no idea what the official figure for Elmander was) it certainly opens a few more doors. Whether wages them becomes an issue for better quality players I dont know.

Megson got the sack too late. Gartside gave him all the games we should have taken points from. Then brought in Coyle for a difficult run of games.
3 points and another clean sheet on Saturday will do for me.
Ding ding. Spot on. Should of gone at start of December not the end of it. Winnable games in December, hull home etc, were we've thrown away points. Would of also given Coyle a good month to look at them before the window, rather than a few days

Indeed and Klasnic was a regular starter for Nantes but they're skint and needed someone else to pay his wages.
the five worst performances of the season were B'burn at home, Stoke at home, Flum at home, Wiggin Away and B'Burn away only 2 of those came under Megson's tenure.
I'm of the opinion he had to go by the end but for us to have reached that point is plain daft.
Hang on sunderland home first day was pretty horrific as well. They were far the better team - look at their away record since, and at the back end of last season as well

OC has had a very tough set of games to start his tenure, he's only just got Klasnic back, Cahill is out for a while and we are missing him at both ends of the pitch (he's still our top goalscorer ffs), we've had no luck whatsoever with refereeing decisions going against us and now the keep megson brigade seem to be sitting back and rubbing their hands with glee just so they can say 'told ya so'.
Whilst I'm not happy with the last 2 league performances, we had to play on a sunday league pitch at wiggin and Blackburn aren't exactly a pushover at home. Stop the bickering and moaning and get behind the lads on saturday in what is a must must must win game!
Exactly we've missed our goalscorer for the last month and had to put up with the swede who cant hit a barn door in the starting 11. The scout who picked this guy out has had a nightmare. Then again when you've a 1 in 3 goalscoring record in france (i think its something like that - for a top half of the table side also not a struggler) its a poor decision to sanction such a move. I never expected goals from him to be honest, if youve got that record in a poor french league its not rocket science to work out the return over here wouldnt be great. And too those who say he wasnt purchased as and out and out goalscorer, well its what we needed after selling anelka, our out and out goalscorer, and no other forward was bought in (aside from that makuluka character who must go down as one of the worst players ive seen in a white shirt in the prem era).

Absolutely, its baffling how Robinson and even Ricketts to an extent were seen as better than what we've got.
I know we needed to boost the numbers, but then for them to become first teamers ahead of JLS, Steinsson, and even Hunt !! Yes Hunt!! is/was crackers.
Robinson, along with that other short ar se left back at hull, dawson, are the two worst full backs in the league, who regularly start, by a country mile. Dont belong in this division.

This overlaps discussions on a few different threads, but after having watched some dreadful performances recently, & a major lack of creativity, chances & goals I think Coyle needs to make some major changes.
For me, the following would be a good start:
1. Put JLS back in at left back - Robinson works hard but is error prone & anybody with pace has him for breakfast.
2. Drop Gardener for Mark Davies. He's been great for us, but he's not a midfielder & he's making no impact there. We're crying out for creativity & a bit of skill.
3. Drop Elmander. I really can't believe some of the stuff I've read on here backing him. The guy is absolutely fucking dogshit with virtually no footballing attributes whatsoever. If anybody played the amount of football that he has recently, they'd have had a couple of decent moments. He can't shoot on target, he can't hold the ball up, he can't keep possession & he's forever the nearly man. If there were points given for sticking your thumb up to a team mate every time you've 'nearly' got on the end of a flick on/through ball/cross he'd have us top of the fucking league. If he stays in this team we are down - no question. Klasnic is fit now - play him with Davies. For me Davies is playing without his usual passion because he knows winning flick ons etc is a waste of time with Elmader (not) running onto them.
Klasnic has had as many shots on target today as the whole team has had in 2 games!!
4. Drop Taylor. He's not on his game. We need to Play Wilshire, otherwise what's he here for?
There are probably other changed I'd want, but this is for starters.

He's the new Megson who was the new Hunt, who was the new Jimmy Phillips etc.
Bolton fans love to have a scapegoat. As it happens he wasn't the worst player on the pitch. That accolade was shared between Gardener and CYL but the 'fans' won't want to admit that, will they?
