The mystery buyers have a bid in place, have always had a bid in place and are waiting to complete, it is KA that is preventing it.

So in effect Bassini would have to prove he has circa £20m available to pay off the debts or its your mystery bidder?

i'd be surprised if he could find that kind of cash.

It's clear that with Anderson, Bassini (last time), Oystons etc.. that the fit and proper test means fuck all.

Plus, if what Nixon is saying is true, then Bassini went to the league yesterday so would all be done by now,.

If thats true then its a disgrace and we are in deep shit!

basrans lot sounded quite good a few weeks back, probly dont have the funds but

Yea, its the lack of funds that worried me. If they were struggling to get enough together to buy the club then I'd worry they had the money to fund us long term.

IN Andersons last brief he said he was talking to someone new, so I think we can assume it's not Basran.

Thanks, I am glad its not Basrans lot if I am being honest.

It is, as Marc suggests, knocking about quite a bit on social media.

    The wording of it is...

    Dear Colleague,

I write further to my previous email sent last week. I am pleased to confirm that a deal has been agreed in principle and is subject to contract with the proposed buyer I mentioned in my last correspondence.

We are all aiming to complete the deal in the next 48 hours with the new owner ensuing funds are available to pay the salaries on Friday. I will update you again once I have further information.

    Regards,
    Ken Anderson

Does he mean its Basrans lot or is it Howards lot?

Apologies if I have missed something posted earlier.

You guys who what liquidation means? assets get turned into cash to pay off creditors and at the end the remainder goes to the shareholder, say the debts are 10 million, anything after that goes to Anderson. He might be under the assumption he could get 25/30 million for the assets in that situation, leaving him with £15-20 million, which might be more than the money he could get while trying to sell the club.

At the moment we don't have the information, so yes all we know is Anderson doesn't have much money, we know roughly the size of the debt and we know how much the club has been advertised for before. The biggest assumption I've made is the value of the club and that is based on the sale amount.

Why wait until this particular crisis to do that?

If you are asking why someone would not use Facebook or twitter to have a debate you are not as clever as you think you are.

This site has extremes but as a result is overall balanced I think. Plenty have disliked KA from day one. Current view seems to be he was the only option but as something else is on the horizon he can move on and won’t be missed.

    Same probably applies to you.

Facebook and Twitters are cesspools of idiots. Its pointless getting into any discussion on either platform for the most part.

Depends on his ambition I suppose. Would be a loss to the youth teams, but if it's a gain to the first team I'm all for it.

My impression is that once we are taken over by this Mystery Buyer we will get in a good appointment. It's a shame we missed out on Gary Bowyer. But plenty of others who can get us out of League 1. More dependent on the players I would say.

    I suppose.

If we do have money, enough to convince a manager we can spend enough to get out of league one in a season we'd be pretty attractive to an ambitious manager with a track record.

I'm with you on that. And honestly while we had great times with him, I think it's time to let it be with BSA.

Wouldn't be opposed to Nolan as manager in league 1, although I know nothing of his success other than he did alright with Notts County for a bit.

Anyone else like to see David Lee have a go? Done well with the youth teams.

Though if these new owners have some cash to splash I reckon we could get a very decent candidate in.

Would Lee be interested in the job? I mean he's doing well with the kids and should really be safe in that job, given the talent we've brought through in recent years.

  10. Realistically, how much would we have to pay BSA to come back? I think we'd be looking at least £5m, upfront. Can't see it, and I've been drinking, but by God would it get us fans back onboard.

I'm speaking as a manager here btw. But would love to get the sports science stuff etc back.

Fwiw I think Howard knows exactly who's buying the club but I'm prepared to wait until it comes out, we don't want this jeopardising in any way. I'd imagine Howard is in someway connected to the Davies family but who cares as long as the info keeps coming. In Howard we trust

I'd much rather not know for a couple of week and the takeover go through than the alternative.

I started in 92 and I can't remember the football being as shit.

Winning footy is exciting footy. Big hoof up to centre forward, laid off to the midfield and goal. Might not be Barca tiki-taka but it's plenty satisfying

Completely agree that winning footy is good footy. I wasn't complaining when we were lumping it to Davies towards the end of the Allardyce years. At the moment were just lumping it to the other team.

  13. I started watching Bolton when I was around nine during the promotion season under Rioch.

The quality of football last and this season has been utterly tedious, if and when we go back to league one I will still be there but it'd be nice to be entertained. Im not asking to watch football like Arsenal played during their invincibles season, but some actual football would be nice.

I think a lot of fans can deal with boring football provided there are some results mind you.

  14. As long as Ken sells the club to someone who can take us forward I couldn't give a shit what he gets paid.

He gets us an owner who manages to get us back challenging for promotion to the Prem and all is forgiven in my eyes.

'pay debts IN FULL' sounds almost too good to be true. I hope it is true.

My thoughts exactly. Here's hoping it happens as it shows that they have some serious financial clout. Basrans haggling and backing out makes me think they wouldnt have enough money to keep the club afloat for the middle to distant future.

No, it won't be before tomorrow, but it also won't get worse, other than the waiting around.

Note of caution, Championship is littered with wealthy individuals/consortiums who have made the same gamble.

    Thanks for the info.

Absolutely agreed there. I'm, always wary of people who aim to make money from a football club.
