They don't need to see the books if they know FV offer of £24m was the highest by far and is enough to get the job done. If his report is even close to being true that they've showed hotel admins £33m and the hotel is about £7.5m then they can clearly afford it. Again, not for me to say whether it's true or not, but if they know the price and have the cash, they don't need to go through it all. He also says it takes Ken out of it if they get the hotel. Not sure how that works though.

Not true. It's been known there are 2 interested for hotel. Nixon's claim is that club admins rejected the other bidder because FV are preferred and they want them to complete, so they're trying to get the hotel deal done first. Whether it's true or not is for you to decide, but he's not said they're in for the club yet, but they want it if they can get hotel.

Yeah, that definitely goes down as a win for him, but if he makes a couple million out of the deal and then needs to put his hand in his pocket for a further £5m, he'll go the liquidation route everyday. I don't know what the loans from ED were secured against (so this could be a stupid question), but unless he personally guaranteed them and didn't loan them through his company/secure against club, how would he be liable?- Take Over
Do you know how much he stands to make from the deal in general? How much is he owed as a secured creditor? I assume if he does want it liquidated to not be held liable for the loan, there would need to be a loophole he can use. He's got too much experience being a conman to not have his exit strategy planned.- Take Over
Not necessarily blackmail, just shady negotiation tactics, but it's Ken so not like it wasn't expected. He's only able to do it because the people involved know how much the club means to us. Any other business and he'd get told to fuck off and it'd go under.- Take Over
Of course, but are wages not due on Friday? Not saying it won't be started, it probably will if it takes x amount of time to be completed. Just think if they really are on the verge of doing it and FV are ready to instantly put in funds it's a waste of time. Then again, could be the push everyone needs to get it over the line.- Take Over
What makes you think he's not bluffing? I don't think he's bluffing about liquidation in general, but claiming to start breaking down the business at 9am sharp I think is a possible bluff. Doesn't make any sense to do that if they're as close as it seems to sorting it out.- Take Over
And why would a player want to play in League 1 or 2 on a low salary cap when they could go potentially go abroad to somewhere that doesn't have a salary cap? Any of the decent players could probably go to a foreign club either low in the league or even a league down, which will just leave a bunch of players with no chance of getting an offer anywhere else. Won't happen unless they don't care about killing the quality of the leagues IMO.- Take Over

Yeah, no one is claiming to believe Nixon and saying they're on the verge of doing the deal. More the fact that if they do get the hotel they're suddenly in a much much better position to get the club. Whether that's buying it out of admin or from FV, who knows.- Take Over
For some reason people keep ignoring this part. No one is going to buy the club first and leave someone else to get the better deal with the hotel. FV have dragged this shit on for 2 months because they won't sign off without the hotel. Amongst other reasons, of course.- Take Over

Phones exist for a reason. No reason discussions can't continue while he nips out for an hour. And if it's true and he has the funds EFL would surely extend the 5pm deadline, even if it's just until later in the night.- Take Over
It's all fucking stupid. We've been giving up free wins week after week, apart from the miracle against Coventry. Bury in same position, but with a bit of luck on their side they'll be able to field a proper team and have their issues sorted when those games are finally rescheduled. I can definitely understand Doncaster fans annoyance at not getting a free 3 points, seeing as we're handing them out, but to celebrate or wish a club goes under because you weren't given an easy win is pathetic.- Take Over
Of course, which is my point. They closed the bidding around 2 weeks (again, could be wrong, but if I'm remembering correctly) after they came in. That's not my point. My point is why have they not opened it up to bidders again, publicly, after realising FV aren't able/willing to complete without the hotel first? They may have 'invited' bids, but they also put out a deadline for full and final bids. Christ, saying a business (that is attached to a business that actually makes money) so has a reason to be saved and not be liquidated (you know, because people can make their money back) is a more stupid comment than the King of Bahrain coming to save us? Impressive, I'll take it. Not saying it won't go tits up and cause us to be liquidated, but I think there will be a few people watching more closely now as the deadline gets closer. Never said there was any other bidders, I simply said they set a deadline and never publicly started accepting bids again. They've put no public pressure on FV to complete. They've let them take it completely at their own pace while charging over £400 an hour. Few grand more? Per day? They're literally making 10s of thousands per week while it drags on. Good track record? Yeah, SISU rings a bell. Let's ask Coventry about their track record.- Take Over
You might be right, and if it's valid reasoning then fine. Just makes no sense to try and shift blame from the admins and the EFL when it's clear both could have done so much more to prevent the situation we're in.- Take Over
They gave what, 2 weeks from coming in for FULL AND FINAL bids? Now they've let it drag on for over 2 months with their preferred bidder. Can't really be bothered to go back through everything and check, but if I remember correctly is was June 10th. Why did the admins not just work with FV from the start and take a look at any other bids as and when they come in? Club wouldn't be liquidated when there is a business that makes £6m-£7m per year attached to it and a stadium to hold events. Even if someone bought it and ran us as a League 2 sustainable club so they could hold events and profit from hotel. Don't see how a business that can be run in a sustainable way goes under. It's the admins fault for multiple reasons. Firstly, why are they not pressuring FV more? They signed HoT with them and gave a week time frame for completion and it's been over 2 months. No pressure, no real statements other than when Bassini is on the wind up again. No interest in looking for more bidders despite the ones they chose being completely out of their element and needing loans to even pay players. Suppose there's no reason to pressure when you're on £400+ an hour and can work weekends and bank holidays while it drags on.- Take Over
They'll start selling off stuff as fast as they can and letting people go, I imagine. Probably already have buyers lined up for assets so they can fuck off as soon as possible while making a nice chunk. Not sure if someone can buy once it's started, but even if they can, would they bother buying without all the assets?- Take Over
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about though. The EFL already gave us our deadline, admins have put forward an ultimatum after the EFL deadline. Sure, it gives us 2 weeks more before we're kicked out, but EFL clearly already know there's no money or we wouldn't be postponing games and struggling to field a team.- Take Over
