Michael Essien should not have to face a three game ban for his tackle against Bolton. The tackle was clearly a bad one, but not bad enough to warrant a red card. I have seen many worse tackles from players like Gerrard that don't get red cards. Essien clearly tried to get out of putting full force in the tackle, or Ben Haim would have a broken leg right now. Styles, for once, made a correct decision in giving a yellow card and the commentators for the match felt that was the right call. There wasn't even discussion of a red card at all. In fact, if Essien gets increased to a red card, then so should Jaidi for his horror tackle on Essien. There can't be one standard for Chelsea and another for the rest of the clubs. Essien rightly got a yellow card and that is where it should stay. Usually Sam Allardyce is a respectable and courteous manager, but he clearly has some of Wenger's poor sportsmanship rubbing off on him. Bolton were comprehensively and fairly beaten by Chelsea and there is no one for Bolton to blame but themselves. Of course, knowing how anti-Chelsea the FA is, I'm sure Essien will be wrongly suspended.

Jeff Winter was on radio today saying that Essien should of been been sent off, if not for the tackle, he should of got second yellow for asking for card to be shown to Ricardo Brick wall Brick wall
