If you want to know why the fans don't turn up for home cup games here are some reasons, go on to various Bolton supporter websites and listen to what the fans think and you may sort out the problem! Here are some ideas by myself and other fans I've seen so far.

 

*Uefa Cup financial costs. Home and Away games in Uefa Cup in February plus travelling costs and then we West Ham in next round at ??25 or ??20 financially it's too much, drop it to ??10/??15 for adults and you then have a full house for West Ham at home. UEFA Cup financial costs so far are a big reason.

 

*5.40pm kick off on a Saturday night (means you can't do much socially after the game by the time you get home) understand this is BBC that dictate this but it was/is a factor.

 

*??1 for kids (future fans) or free tickets to local schools

 

*season tickets to include home cup games

 

*on line ticketing facility was down last week

 

*can't get through to ticket office-can't afford for someone to call me/us back within next 24 hours, we're ringing now for a ticket!

 

*people still paying debt from xmas

 

*FA Cup has never really been a priority for the club before so people are wary of what kind of team that is going to be put out by Sam, Arsenal also put out a weakened side.

 

*the game was on tv.

 

The Arsenal game was shown by BBC so income was generated from that so reduce (properly!) the ticket prices (??10,??15) and re coup through merchandise, food and drink and appeal to potential new, younger fans.

 

It's the clubs blatant oblivious views on the above matters that frustrates people, so when Sam, especially Phil Gartside (who won't give Sam any funds to sign players potentially losing our best manager ever to other clubs) and now players releasing statements knocking the fans after all we have done (going abroad to Bulgaria,Turkey and Portugal, taking time off work etc etc) and have all the above to cope against people are fuming!!
