Smiffs
Marseille boss misses match Last posted: Wednesday 22 February 2006 16:23 MARSEILLE boss Jean Fernandez will miss Thursday night's UEFA second leg against Wanderers. The 51 years old manager was taken ill after the first leg at the Reebok but after a weekend spell in hospital had hoped to be back with the groin for Thursday's game. But he was still in pain, and was rushed back into hospital, where he had surgery for a genital infection caught from his prematch visit to Shifnall Street. He is expected to stay in hospital for a few days and his assistant, Albert Emon will take charge of the side. Meanwhile, Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce who has stayed away from training because of plans to spend the night before the game in Nice with a large collection of notrights, missed the team flight but is expected travel to France before the game with Zozzytours. Whether he makes the kick off is another matter.
