June 11, 200620 yr if beckham is credited with yesterdays goal which i doubt but would bookies pay out on him having already settled the bets and refunded all bets on 1st goalscorer markets. i had ??30 on him to score the last goal @14.5 on betfair,i ,know betfair will not pay out on him now ,but just wandering if you think bookies will.
June 11, 200620 yr The bookies will definately pay out on Beckham even if they have already paid out on 'No Goalscorer' by mistake. The betfair bets shouldn't have been settled on the goalscorer market until 24 hours later but if they have, and then fifa reverse the decision to a Beckham goal there will be a lot of problems trying to get money back from punters who have wrongly collected winnings Going off the subject slightly I have a good tip for football betting: If you are thinking of having a bet on a 0-0 correct score, write on your betting slip/internet page 'No Goalscorer' instead of 0-0, they are always the same price. In the England/Paraquay match you would get paid out even though it didn't finish 0-0 because it was an own goal. this information is brought to you by zozzytips??
June 11, 200620 yr i had ??30 on him to score the last goal @14.5 on betfair,i ,know betfair will not pay out on him nowHave betfair already settled the bet as a loser or is it still pending? If the goal is awarded to Beckham you are entitled to your winnings, betfair don't have a leg to stand on legally because it is all computerised. The bloke that went into the bookies after the match and collected the winnings on his 'No Goalscorer' bet will be buying beers down the pub with his winnings even though the bookies wrongly paid him out and they won't see him again for dust
June 11, 200620 yr Author its now been officially been given as an own goal now. betfair settled the bet straight after the match as a loser,so it would have been intresting to see what they would have done if the goal had been given to beckham. in a recent boxing fight that ended in a draw but later was awarded to a fighter as a judge had added up his score wrong.betfair payed out on the draw and not the winner of the fight. bookies payed out on the winner
June 11, 200620 yr Betfair don't bet or take bets like the bookies do. They are not bookies. You and I go on the betfair site to bet or lay, which means we are the punter or we are the bookie. Betfair are the referee that take the money from our account and put it into somebody elses account or visa versa. If they settled your Beckham bet as a loser and then the decision was made to give the goal to him, then they would be legally required to give you your winnings. In the first instance they would try to take back the funds that they mistakingly credited to the other punter. This would be easy for them to do, unless that person had spent his winnings leaving nothing left in his account. ........if you know what I mean :-s
