Sheffield Are Not The New Bolton

A foreign view on the premiership season.

19. Sheffield United

Neil Warnock has taken five years or so to get his beloved Blades back in the top flight. It'll take one year to take them back out again. Again, a lack of investment will come back to haunt them as there just isn't enough quality on the roster for them to succeed. And while they'll try to bully their way through the division, they're no Bolton Wanderers.

I think this is a compliment !!!

The whole thing is quite amusing and worth a read. http://ussoccerplayers.com/latest_soccer_news/524169.html

You see it as a compliment that the media see us as bully boys?

Personally I???d rather be complimented for playing good football and entertaining the crowd but perhaps I???m just old fashioned.

Nat,

I see it as a compliment that we came into the Premiership and have successfully worked our way through it and we have now set a route for other teams (without massive spending power) to follow showing how they can survive in the top flight.

We are not bully boys. We play hard but fair. We were the first team to hustle the top teams in the midfield to stop them playing and have players like Super Kev who gives as much as he gets. (And is always unfairly penalised in the process imho).

I would rather see 1 Kev Davies/Abdoule Faye crunching takle than 50 Cristiano Ronaldo step overs!

I love watching Bolton V Arsenal games just for the look on Terry Henry's face at the audacity of some hoodlum from a small northern club to actually tackle him!! Or Robin VanPersie throwing a hissy fit after Faye wallops him over the touchline only for the ref to give a throw-in our way!
