Some of the men who have played for both us and the blades.

Andy Walker

Deadly finisher who proved to be a breath of fresh air for the Wanderers when arriving from Celtic in the early part of 1992. Walker's goals raised the profile of the club via the FA Cup and with fellow Scot John McGinlay he formed one of the best forward partnerships seen at Bolton in recent times.

Wanderers favourite of the late 1980's and early 1990's who was an expert from dead ball situations. Philliskirk formed an excellent partnership with David Reeves during his time at Bolton but his half century of league goals for the club could never bring about promotion from the Third Division.

Mark Patterson

Hatton was expected to be the long term replacement for Wyn Davies when he arrived at Burnden Park in March 1967. He made a positive start with two goals in his second game against local rivals Bury but these where to be his only goals in 25 matches. Later had better success with other league clubs

The twin brother of Dean Holdsworth signed for Bolton as a non-contract player in August 2002 as Sam Allardyce looked to bolster his squad. Holdsworth was one of the few players to come out with any credit following the League Cup defeat at home to Bury, a game that was his only Bolton appearance.

There was also Malcolm Barrass, centre half in the 53 cup final team, Billy Russell, goalkeeper Terry Poole, Gary Jones and Andy Kennedy. The inclusion of Bob Hatton above reminds me of his last game when Bolton were playing Blackburn at Ewood and the Bolton bench wanted to substitute Hatton. Hatton refused to come off. This was in the days when subs could come on without there being a break in play and there were no boards informing who was being substituted. The Bolton bench asked Roy Greaves to tell Hatton to come off and still Hatton refused. Roy Greaves went back to the Bolton bench shrugged his shoulders and said what more can I do. It took about ten minutes before Hatton finally came off.
