If you're not going on your coach thing, then Plaistow station is the one you want on your way back.

 

Walk up Green Street towards Upton Park tube, there'll be a massive queue for that tube, and you can be stuck there for a while - bottom of the queue, the police will be advising you to use Plaistow - follow the crowd walking down that way, it's about 10, 15 minute walk, but you'll save yourself a long queue, and be back at your station quicker.

 

It won't be a "war zone", and as long as you don't take the piss you'll be fine.

 

Plaistow is the stop after Upton Park though so wont the trains be full ?

George, no you'll be fine getting on at Plaistow, there's never a problem actually getting on the tube through numbers, just the long queue at Upton Park tube. But East Ham is as good a shout - just a bit more difficult to explain direction wise to someone who doesn't know the area. Plaistow's always a better bet than Upton Park.
